I have a decent set in storage I'm thinking of dragging down to look at fitting. Quote Selected

I have wondered how awesome the Mazda Rx8 seats would look in our birds. http://www.google.com/search?tbm=isch&source=mog&hl=en-US&gl=us&q=mazda%20rx8%20seats&sa=N&biw=320&bih=452#p=0 Quote Selected

I'd have to dig back into the pics to actually see what had to be done. I don't think adapters would be too difficult to do, though. XR seats are manual, and should easily join up with the TBird seat tracks. It was a little bit of a PITA putting the Mustang stuff into the Merkurs, due to the goofy seat tracks, and the height adjusters, etc.My stock seats in the newer Scorpio are great. Good choice for a driver, and MUCH better than the stockers in the TBirds. Quote Selected

I am going to say the Merkur seats I have are too wide across the middle of the seat back to fit well. Too bad, because I like the way they look, and always liked the seats comfort.Seat tracks didn't line up, but weren't going to be too bad.Windshield is in! Looks great, too. Quote Selected

Thanks,I saw that on your cars interior project. I've been looking for a set locally. In the meantime I may just spray- dye mine and try some Scotch guard over top of it. I had a car with a red interior that someone dyed, and it ruined some brand new clothes after I got in the car during a rain shower. The dye came off on my shorts and shirt and it wouldn't ever wash out. I've been leery of dying cloth seats ever since. Quote Selected

1988 TC single Holset turbo 5.0/ 4R70W Reply #729 – November 25, 2011, 11:02:23 PM I at least got those seats cleaned a bit before I stored them away again, Chuck! The issue came on the back width, yes. The seat hit both the center console and the door panel at the same time. A full inch too wide to use.Played golf today. Weather is just too nice!I did cut down a mirror stem to mount the headlight sensor onto. I picked up a second windshield button to mount the Gentex on right above the old one where the sensor will be.Here's an idea of how the seats look after a couple cans of paint/dye. It's still in process, so the interior will be a lot better eventually. Quote Selected

These aren't quite as much so. You'll see when you try one. Quote Selected
