Looking at an 84 Tbird 302 car...

Found an 84 Tbird with the 302. Going to look at it tommorow.  Any particular areas to look out for?
88 TC 5speed, 168000+ miles, stock 2.3T long block, ported RFE6 exhaust, Evergreen T3 running 15#'s.
Up next: FMIC, fresh air intake, ported intakes, ported big valve head.

Very good choice.  I can't think of anything you should be aware of.
84 TC 302 -5.0L/t5/7.5 locking rear and a 3.45 gear, Edelbrock Intake, Aluminum Heads, Edlebrock 65mm Throttlebody, Edlebrock Cam, 24lb injectors & MAS Air Sensor calibrated via chip,  BBK headers, Catback H pipe, Magnaflow lers :evilgrin:

On most of the early models seem to rust right behind the drivers rear wheel.  I own one and I have seen many like mine. Being an 83-84 look at the dash pad. There isn't any replacements for it. Also look at the engine compartment frame rails. They tend to rust on lots of these cars.  Just some ideas on things that are kinda known to go bad.
