Guy I bought my headers from had CC's on his 1/4 miler drag car. (88 Tbird)  But he also had a tube welded from the front to the back of the engine compartment like a pair of parallel bars, motor plates, and maybe another brace welded in or two.  I suppose the CC's allowed him to adjust for the heavier motor, and all the welding stress or something.

With a little assertiveness, I think he could make both function well....I can actually picture a couple of different ideas in my head.  I'd LOVE to see the underside of it.
