he's talking like in the mn12's how you can gain acsess into the trunk through the back seat. My cutlass has that option. iand it does come in handy!

There's a cross bracing behind the back seat rest inside foxes, so folding the seat down wouldn't do too much good anyway.

I'm going to put the rear seat in the convertible on a hinge. But that's a different story.

I haven't seen a split rear seat in a Fox car yet. It would make for an interesting mod. Once the seat is cut in half, it would have to get reupholstered, and the wire frame on the backside should probably be redone for support. I would surmise that one could even keep the rear fold-down armrest if they're careful enough.

The metal behind the rear seat...that's where it gets tricky. Re-routing of wires would be the tough part. Cutting out the diagonal braces would be mandatory, but so would a tube/box frame around the perimeter. Only then would you have the strength and support needed to have a full pass-through area.

Not sure how much that 'X' does.  I moved my premium sound module to the underside of the package tray between the speakers.  With some effort, the wiring could be rerouted, the crossbraces removed, and some reinforcement added if necessary.

My SWAG is that Fox Mustang seats would be the best place to start.  Not sure how wide MN12 seats are, or what other car would make a good candidate for donor.

Hadn't thought about modifying the existing seat, maybe use the Mustang hardware with T-bird cushions?

Well, I've tried to fit Mustang rear seats in our cars before and they really don't work well. Not to dash your hopes...it's just that the floorpans between the two cars are so different. So yeah, maybe just using Mustang hardware may work.

It wouldn't be too hard to build a sturdy light weight frame to keep the seat back rigid and then cover the frame with some factory appearing carpet material for the back.Hmmmmm.I may have to get in on this action soon.
