Yeah, white people riot too. I remember when Edmonton had a riot on Whyte ave. because the Oilers beat Anaheim in game five. No, it wasn't all white people. I'm just saying, people from all kinds of backgrounds will riot for the stupidest reasons. White people just usually wait for a G8 Summit. ;)

Please, no one take this post seriously. I didn't when I typed it.

Obama won the election, but even if McCain did, either way,the new guy has an incredible load of  to deal with being thrust upon him.

My thoughts exactly. Who the hell would want the job of cleaning up the current mess? I certainly wouldn't. Hell, being a crooked CEO pays better...

Just wanting that job earns my respect.I think it's easy to pass judgement sitting in our living rooms about people and situations. Most of the opinions people have right now are based on what someone said about someone else. You can hear a lot of things, but you should never judge a man by what you hear. Our new President deserves a chance to prove himself before people get too harsh on him (not that anyone here was.....or wasn't).I have NEVER met another man, woman,or other worthy of judging another person.....ever.That job belongs to a much higher power.Everyone has their own opinions, that's all good and well, but I was just always taught to never, ever, judge another person, and that teaching came from my father,a career Marine.Crazy, but in my eyes,he's right.

i was once told that its both adult and human to judge. without judgement you would have no opinion. there is nothing wrong with judgement. its those that actually think they are better than every on else that are wrong. everybody is worth exactly what every other person is worth. people make actions that creates re actiond. people make both good dicisiond and bad decisions. have different strengths and weaknesses. were all human from mother theresa to the neighborhood drug dealer. its our actions that make us who we are, and its those actions judged by others that figurativall give us our worth. nobody is perfect.

i dont belive for a second anyone can walk through like without judging people. i may see a cracked out druggy or drunk passed out somewhere and i can tell you inside my head ill judge him but that doesnt mean i think  im better than him weather id say something about it to someone else or not.

meh...sorry bout the rant. it doesnt really articulate my point like i wanted.

no president can just flip a swtich and take those all away at will.
.

how quickly we forget.

not too long ago a woman used those very freedoms you so proudly boast while standing in a crowd of others to ask Laura Bush "why did my son have to die in iraq?".
she was hauled away by the secret service,, she was detained and later was put in jail for 48hours.  Her charges were due to the fact that her actions put her in a terrist catagory and later went to trial for violating national security.

Woodrow Wilson would imprison americans who spoke out agiast WWI so to you sir is say ,,, it has happened before and we are destin again to have a socialist society.

you are so blind although you are a good american.  you are amongst the proud and laboring minority right now so prepare to spread the wealth.

I fear for him though. There are enough crazy people that still believe that anything other than their race is inferior and are not afraid to act on making sure they attempt to keep everyone else down at all cost.

This has to be the biggest THREAD HIJACK EVER!!!!

Or for the Phils to win the Series. I know it was very limited, but it was still shameful. In my opinon, rioting, by anyone, for any reason, is indicative of one thing: a total lack of respect for others' property. The key word here is "respect", and I believe that it's lacking in some because they lack a work ethic. When you respect something that belongs to someone else, you're saying, "you worked hard for this, and I have no right to destroy it or take it from you. Your work should be respected, and whether you used it to acquire a house, a car, or a hundred pink flamingos is no business of mine -- that you worked for it demands my respect (or your dad worked for it, or your grand-dad, you get the picture)." Rioters seem to lack this and I think that parents have a solemn duty to instill this into their children. When someone riots, the first place to look for blame is to them, and the second place is to everyone who influenced them. Friends don't let friends riot.

Respect is deeply lacking in this country. Perhaps it's from a lack of humility...
