Pages loading odd

recenly **some*** web pages load odd for me.

example 1- ebay
I go to ebay and everything loads but all things load up along the left side of my screen.  the home page looks normal but when i go to use the search bar, everything you would normally see such as the menus that normally run horizontal are now loading top to bottom.

example 2- photobucket
I need to got there and make some corrections to the evtm i loaded up recently but when i go there, i get an odd layout like the site is loading up along the left side of the screen.  The page looks odd and some things i would normally see as a button appear as blue links.  Unlike ebay, the homepage loads up like this.

example 3- youtube
I have been surfing for a decent log splitter and in some instances, when i click a vid clip, the youtube page loads with all the stuff to the left of my screen and most things that would normally appear as buttons or options appearing along the top horizontal section of the page load up along the left top down.

Coolcats is not effected and its odd this problem is not global for my pc.  After looking closely at the one youtube page, there was something about java or flashplayer.  I dont really understand what these two things do.

Not all sites are effected. harbor freight loads up just fine and i would consider the layout compared to ebay similair.  I am not sure what to do here, i have checked various IE tools and cant seem to cypher what the issue is.
I need to get to photo bucket but its all hosed up now and difficult to navigate.

If i were to describe all this problem into one line, it appears my pages are loading "cached" although pages loaded as cached are far more organized than what i see.  Also, all of these pages are snow white backgrounds if that matters with a ton of mostly text and top down arrangment of pics / links.

If it is possible to save a screenshot, let me know how and i will post a pic of what i see.

Hey Scott use Alt-PrtScr to get a screenshot of your active window and then paste into your photo editing software to post

Don't your young'uns have their own machines? Is it happening there too with your accounts? If not, you might want to try Firefox, at least temporarily.

I worked with photo bucket and after hitting refresh a few times, it finally came around to looking normal.

now that i think bout it, the IT guy with hughesNet had me delete all my cookies and i think this all started directly after that.

I had no problems with photobucket prior to this.  Now it seems photobucke is loading right up.  Perhaps the more i refresh ebay, the more it will finally gather all the cookies? and load correctly next go around.

my ISP has a .9sec delay so that might have something to do with it.

I guess its a miricle my work VPN works correctly across cisco.

I still cant edit  my own titles to my photo bucket images for the EVTM i put up.  I was able to click on a button that no longer shows the option while i am logged in.  I think they cut me off due to max pics allowed.

You know, the same thing happens to me on occasion... but somewhat more randomly... it didn't matter the site I was visiting. Every so often, I'd navigate to a site, and it would appear just as your, jcassity, photos have indicated... almost like a 'text-only' version of a website, sometimes some images would load, other times it would only be that darned red X.

I have since discovered, that phenomenon would only occur at certain times... time of high usage... aka, bandwidth.

The times that the sites I was visiting (indeed, on occasion, this site) coincided with times that either Dad was streaming a net radio station, Jenna downloading music, or mom doing research on the net. Believe me, it took a long while to piece that one together. LOL

I have heard rumours, like that many a cable provider splice and share internet connections with households residing on the same block... or maybe others in your household are using the net at the same time as you....

These are just ideas.... but one good way to help diagnose is to change your browser.... and see if the problem persists (and note the time :) )

I don't deal with Photobucket... so I don't know about them, and the problems you've been facing.

I do deal with Ebay, and have seen pictures very similar to what you displayed.

Just thoughts...
try firefox,
clear all cache files,
make sure all Microsoft updates are applied.

For the record, I use Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 (firefox is installed, but it makes no difference to these problems, at least in my case).

The problem you are likely having is that your satellite internet is dropping packets, causing errors in the way pages load. I experienced that with my short satellite internet experiment, and still experience it occasionally with my fixed wireless connection, especially during heavy rain.

When I tried the satellite internet I'd get pages loading strangely like you have, but I'd also have pages load with missing images. For example, in a thread with a lot of pics like the "show your mug" thread, half the images would load. Firefox would not display the broken image icon, either, so I wouldn't even know which images were missing. If I hit "refresh" the page would load with a different set of images. Some of the images that had previously loaded would disappear, some would show up, and some that hadn't showed up before would this time around.

I verified it was the satellite by viewing the same page with dialup. It would take forever, but everything would load. Then I'd disconnect the dialup, reconnect the satellite, and hit "refresh". Only half the images would load.

I took the experiment a step further by using a proxy. With the proxy every image would load. With the direct connection only half of them would. It was very annoying, as I'd post an eBay auction and the images wouldn't show up. I'd think I did something wrong, only to find out my satellite ISP was dropping the info. Needless to say I did not stick with the ISP, and suffered through dialup for another 8 months before I could get the wireless high speed.

I've been getting the same thing on the Weather Underground site.
It loads down instead of filing the page.
I'm on cable using a Mac.

Try holding the Ctrl button when clicking the link.  It will disregard anything in the history or web cache.  Or Ctrl + refresh (F5) if you are already there and are having a problem.

Rumours you say:D

Try facts and the very issue a tiny little pizza box being employed throughout many networks "to include comcast" inwhich a little product called a "sandvine" is getting them into a lot of trouble.

dont get me started with "concentration"

Thanks everyone,, its probably just that, my ISP.  The lag time is .9sec which is not good i know but does the job.

So far I am satisfied with the service and it is everything as advertised.  No billing issues or customer support either.  I just call a different number now to get the stateside tech support.

Below is a speed test and matches what I am paying for.  Not bad when cell service , cable or DSL are not options.

ebay has never stopped loading different,,,,so ,, I noticed something and perhaps I've been living under a rock but ,, Could my problem be that i have no account set up with EBAY?

The same happens with YouTube,, but i have no account with them either.

here is what ebay looks like when i just go to the site... and the next is what happens when I do a search.
