Sooo I got four runs in between 5pm and 6:40pm. Good news is I improved on my previous best. Bad news is I blew up my car.

I aired my tires up to 50 psi for the trip up there, and forgot to air my rears back down. Spun the tires real bad off the line. Also left the shocks and struts on auto. 15.38 at 92.0mph, 2.46 60ft. Other lane was a new G8 GT running 14.2x at 100ish mph.
Slip and videos, click for fullsize:

Second run, vs the G8 again. Aired the tires down to 35 psi in the back and unplugged the front struts in soft and switched the rears to firm. This helped traction tremendously, but I was letting the clutch out too fast and bogging. 15.86 at 92.37, 2.79 60ft.
Slip and vid:

Third run, vs a Fox Stang, though it might have been the Capri that was there. Pretty much the same run as the last run, bogged hard again. 15.54 at 92.76mph, 2.54 60ft. Redlit by .003"
Slip only:

Last run, vs an S197 stang. This was almost a sweet pass. Hooked up much better than before but my hand slipped off the shifter (stock  minus the leather) going for 3rd, and then at the end of the track I heard something start rattling, and let off a little bit before the finish line. 15.26 at 86.03mph, 2.18 60ft.
Slip and vid:

So after that last pass the car was running pretty rough, like on 3 cyls and was making a nasty knock in the top end when you rev it or accelerate. Was told it was probably a chunked rocker. I decided to drive it home though, and take it real easy. Got it about 2 miles from home and boom  tons of smoke out the exhaust. Assuming headgasket. Guess it was overheating on the way back, but my temp gauge ALWAYS reads way low, almost never gets up to "normal".

So that last run was my quickest at 15.26 and the third run was my fastest at 92.76mph.

The 1/8th mile of my last run (best 1/8 et) calculates to 15.27 at 88.2mph.

The 1/8th mile of my third run (best 1/8 mph) calculates to 15.94 at 91.15mph.

My best 1/8th mile et and mph calculates to 15.27 at 91.15mph.

So Mr Pinto I dont know which one of those you would like to use on the top 25's.

Dunno what Im gonna do about the carnage at the moment. I cant afford to fix it right now. Might have to transfer my insurance to our 89 dodge spirit turbo for a while.

I got a solid feeling that last run there woulda met my goal of 15.0 man.

What all did you have done to your car on your run?

I'll take the 15.26 and a moment of silence for the dearly departed 2.3. Hopefully it didn't get hurt too bad :(

Yeah Im trying to decide if I wanna fix my motor or see if Antonio wants to sell me his...

I really had a goal of 200,000 miles on the original motor and trans in my car though.

The headgasket blew literally 2 miles from my house. Odometer was at 169,999 then and then we towed it home and it was at 170,001 then. Lots of miles on a neglected car. I cant blame it for blowing.

So I guess Ill be on the lookout for a headgasket and ranger roller setup. Id go Boport but Im too poor. Id like to retain my fuel economy as well.

Sadly, all I had done to my car at the point of running 14.97 was a gillis valve and a k&n filter.  It still has the IHI turbo too, lol.  Only thing that might have affected it was that all the ride control stuff was gone when I got the car and replaced with monroe shocks in back, and bilstien struts in the front.  Now that will all hopefully change before catjam.  Big power coming soon:burnout:

stock dp w/cat.  It did have 2 1/4" dynomax lers with 2 1/4 duals on it.  looked like pipes made for a mustang cause they had like an 8-10" section of pipe welded in them.  I had to cut them into pieces just about to get them out.  I think it might have been a fairly cool day though that I did that.

BTW: if you need another cam, I got one laying around that looked in decent shape.  It came out of the engine I got from adam.  I'm putting a boport roller in that head so I wont need that cam.  I have all the sliders for it too

Alright man I may have to take you up on that. Either that, or a ranger roller setup, or if I hit the lotto a boport setup :D

I think it would be logical for me to try for a ranger roller setup first though, since my car is my daily driver. Cant really afford to sacrifice fuel economy. If I cant find anything though, yeah, Ill take you up on your offer.

I still have to start digging into the car first though.
