cars without side molding? pics? May 08, 2008, 09:42:32 PM Anyone not using the side molding? I know it may be awkward with the bumper contours, but just wondering if anyone has pics without the molding. Even if it's just an after paint job pic. Quote Selected

cars without side molding? pics? Reply #3 – May 08, 2008, 10:08:04 PM My original idea was to remove it all and cut the bumper trim at an angle and fade it into the body. but now that i have the body kit on the front it would look horrible... maybe Quote Selected

However looking at the other pics, keeping the front and rear ones and painted body color looks good, too. Unfortunately, it's the front and rears that are missing. Quote Selected
cars without side molding? pics? Reply #6 – May 08, 2008, 10:48:29 PM The front and rears are the easiest to find.I'm leaving off the middle trim and keeping the rest to keep it looking right. Quote Selected
ya me too Reply #7 – May 08, 2008, 10:56:36 PM Quote from: cougar86_89;217961My original idea was to remove it all and cut the bumper trim at an angle and fade it into the body.... I've been wondering the same thing. The "new" rt fender is missing the rub strips and I think the whole car would look good without them. Two problems:1) it's not parking lot friendly2) how to blend the bumper covers shape and color? I don't think I want to do mine in one solid color. Quote Selected
cars without side molding? pics? Reply #8 – May 09, 2008, 02:54:00 AM The smooth look is starting to grow on me. I like it.But I worry about door dings, etc. And if I decided to build side-skirts, the moulding is an obvious bodyline to build against. Quote Selected

cars without side molding? pics? Reply #11 – May 09, 2008, 09:37:43 AM In all my years of experience I have never seen the side moldings on our cars save any dings whatsoever. Other peoples' doors are usually higher when they hit our cars. Our side molding does absolutely nothing but sit there for looks (and in the case of the wide moldings, add about 10-15 lbs. to the weight of the car). So I don't see any detriment in removing them if you want to. Quote Selected
cars without side molding? pics? Reply #12 – May 09, 2008, 10:00:07 AM I <3 my side molding. :D All of it the whole cicrumference. I was SOOO happy when I re-shot the plastic ones, the bumpers' ones were faded and looked almost grey, and so did the front fender ones (kinda). Having em all a MATCHING deep black was an amazing improvement. Quote Selected
