Re: question about this job posting on monster Reply #1 – March 04, 2005, 11:35:16 AM It depends....If part of the job requirement entails strenous physical activity and the employer can show that this is indeed true then yes due to the fact that someone not in good physical condition may not be able to perform the tasks required. It almost sounds like they may even have some sort of physical testing involved. You raised my curiosity....What kind of employment is this and is there a link to a sight or anything like that? Re: question about this job posting on monster Reply #2 – March 04, 2005, 11:40:16 AM C'mon Scott you know tobacco is disgusting! I don't know about anywere else but its like illegal to smoke in most places in ohio it seems. If you would be in primarily public places then maybe thats what they are getting at. Quote Selected
Re: question about this job posting on monster Reply #3 – March 04, 2005, 11:53:12 AM It's wierd how smoking is so looked down upon that it has become socially unacceptable, but drinking and driving (which kills a lot more people than cigarettes) is still not a big deal. People have a choice to start smoking... a car with a family in it does not have the choice of sharing the road with a drunk in a big beat up truck who will, in turn, hit thier car, killing all of them but come out fine himself because of this drunkenness./RantAnd yeah, I think they can tell you not to smoke. Re: question about this job posting on monster Reply #4 – March 04, 2005, 11:54:31 AM You have what i have,, and there is the link to the company in the moster posting.I personally think they are not allowed to. Their posting says zero tollerance for tobacco products via a drug test. Kinda makes basic ultra lights in the box illegal. Quote Selected
Re: question about this job posting on monster Reply #5 – March 04, 2005, 12:05:02 PM Now... do they mean on the job? Or at all? This reminds me of the company firing those who smoke. I guess smoking does go against the values of a company called "Kleen Air" but still... Quote Selected

Re: question about this job posting on monster Reply #10 – March 04, 2005, 12:51:48 PM It really depends on your state of mind as much as anything else. If you want to quit smoking then you can quit smoking. Most people try five to seven times before they are actually able to quit. The key is never to become dependent upon the nicotine in the first place. I can smoke one with my sister-in-law every once in a while and it doesn't bother me at all. Quote Selected

I don't like drunk drivers anymore than I like smoking. I don't dislike "smokers" I just don't like the smoke itself. It honestly flares my allergys up. When the guys at work start to smoke I have to stay away from them or I will get sick. Some days I can smoke a mini cigar and other days it makes me sick. :disappoin Number one thing is being around people who would rather buy a pack of ciggerettes or beer than buy gas or milk. That really ticks me off. I only buy beer if I have waaayy more than enough money to get through to the next check. And then I usualy don't buy it! Quote Selected
Re: question about this job posting on monster Reply #12 – March 04, 2005, 03:48:17 PM Scott, nicotine isn't a natural ingredient in Tobacco? Wow... I DID not know that. Even those little cigars make me nervous, though... "predominantly natural tobacco with some non-tobacco ingredients added." Did you have the dreaded blood cough while smoking Menthols? I've never experienced it in all my smoking experience (probably a total of 2 cartons in my life, as far as menthols go) but I managed to quit smoking all together before it became too hard to quit.
