Does anyone know where i could get a hold of a very low cost and very small "thermal switch"?

I found one exactly perfect on the honeywell web site but they are silicone based and not cheap.

Im looking for something that detects heat and opens up then closes again when cooler temps arrive. The principle i am after is what involves your dryer heating elements to go off and on again by the use of the thermal switches but these switches are too large.

Id like to find something along the range of 100degF when it finally opens.

J or K wire would work ok but still the cost is out of reach.

cost range would be under a buck for each sensor.

Second note... auto zone sells circut breakers.. but I dont think they would work,, of course I dont know what your evil plan is......

no evil plan here although thats not atypical of me being as i have a couple projects on hold,,,,ie,,, my methan gas plans from my septic tank,,,a 25kva gen head sitting around doing nothing,,some wierd ass contraption called the static capacitor which i still cant grab the prinls of correctly,, but nevermind all that plus no job yet which really surprises me cause i thought for sure something would pan out by now,, no tears intended but i am worried like shiznit and probably need help with my situation.

goal for these thermal switches: to help prevent house fires caused by a very common problem.

Princess Auto in Canada sells surplus thermal switches (for the record, jcassity, a thermal switch is called a "thermostat"

) from seat heaters in cars. They open at 80 degrees celsius (prolly 'bout 160-180 farenheit, since 40C is about 100F and 100C is 212F) and cost a few bucks CDN each

Im not so sure about the "thermostat" word. I actually started my original search with the keyword "thermal couple" cause that is what they actually are.
It seems that all the companies out there are calling them "thermal switches" Ill bet there is some reason for it to separate applications and whatnot.

I found some at honeywell,, see link,, and way at the bottom is a flat disc like thermal switch.
