2.3 turbo swap February 17, 2005, 03:27:35 PM hey guyz,I am gona swap a worked 302 into my 87 turbocoupe. I have all the wiring details from jasonfletcher.my question lie in the tranny. will i be able to use my existing t-5 for a 1980 5.0 block? has anyone done this swap? any help would be much obliged. Re: 2.3 turbo swap Reply #2 – February 17, 2005, 07:02:01 PM dark is right it is to weak and the gears are to steep to be of proper use.Get a stang one.I wrote a huge article in the engine swapping section of the forum here,very detailed,you should check it out.I just did the 2.3l-5.0l swap like 4 months ago so when i wrote the article last month everything was very fresh in my mind.Do you have a 5.0l bird or couger parts car?It will be very difficult(but not impossible)to do the swap without one.
