Update

Well, Layla still runs ;)

Loctiting the head studs fixed that problem, and John giving me a hand fixed my stupidity problem :hick: 100 miles so far and zero problems. Even hit 25 psi ;)

So, time to go racing? :D

The intelligence astounds me.

First of all, you don't have it running, then you get it running, then you blow the head (second time, I think?) now you want to rail on it by racing??

Someone needs to take away your license and never give it back.:rolleyes:
Personally, I'm sick of hearing all about "Layla", and having you post about it 50 times in the wrong forum.

And yes, I know I sound like a bitch today..get over it.

The car is intended to be a street/strip car.  The "strip" part implies that it's going to see the DRAG strip.

It's his pride and joy and he's put a shiznitload of work into it.  If you dont like hearing about the car, don't read about it.

Sounds like you're the one that needs to get over it.  I personally haven't seen him do anything wrong, and your post was completely uncalled for.  He hasnt stirred any trouble or anything.

@Aerobird:  Glad to hear everything is sorted out.  Sorry to jump into the fray here, but I found that post really uncalled for.  Just enjoy your hard work.

Wow, that was definitely NOT what I expected to hear...

@lilbiotch1198:

Layla is a "toy" car. That means it's raced, a LOT. Beat on, driven a lot, taken on roadtrips, put into cruise nights, etc. It's meant to be a way of enjoying a car and the culture.

My "problem" was and is not my driving. I had a few head studs (yes, STUDS, the ENTIRE drivetrain in this car is rebuilt and about 90% aftermarket performance parts) back out, causing a blown HG. I fixed it and drove around for over 2 months, including going drag racing multiple times, as per normal. Then it broke a starter, which I fixed, only to have another HG pop. By now my real daily driver is busted, so I spent a mad thrash on the car and fixed the HG in under 24 hours. Except it only lasted 2 days because I rushed and got the HG wet.

So John came over and helped out by making me Loctite the studs and driving me around to the parts store while we fixed it correctly. Now that all is well again, it's time to race the car, as USUAL.

How none of this belongs in the LOUNGE is beyond me. Sorry if you don't like hearing about my car, but other people do. If you don't want to read it, don't click it.

You ARE a bitch, get over yourself.

@kingcars:

Thanks for the D man. I don't know what's with some people.

@cougarcragar:

I don't honestly know. I kind of "ran out" of things to modify on this car. I want to go racing again because I know it has an easy low 14 in it now that the HG is busted. After that, I dunno. I'm actually kind of sick of it. I *really* want another 4-eye. I'll probably put Layla up for sale in October and buy a clean 83 or 84 TC to play with. I've done a few drag cars and I'd like to do an SCCA auto-crosser now. I even have a manual seats/windows setup for an 83/84 if I don't find one pre-equipped ;)

I thought you wanted to keep Layla since she's the closest to a "first" car that you have.  Or you can just send it down here to NC and I'll take great care of her :) .  haha
