Should I just reuse whats on the car now? I havn't decided on mechanical or electric fuel pump, so whats on the car is fine. It's an older one with the cut out so I can use mech if i want, and a cover plate if I don't.

Ok, I may be way out on this, but IIRC some of the older 302 blocks are stronger than the newer roller types. You may have a stronger block to begin with. If you are staying carb, why change the motor and pull the efi? Is it more cost or labor effective?

Your spot on.

I do have an older block for sure. Mid 70's. However the "guts" i have no clue. I don't know if its been bored out, stroked... what ever. A newer motor is just that, newer. Less miles, less wear ( how many people really abuse 5.0 explorers) and I can't see them being to expencive. If I buy the whole motor, i will part out the EFI stuff to make some of the money back off of it

Do you have to be a complete asshole to everyone that askes a question. Read back, it say "PLANNING" and " Thinkin about"
Meaning I'm not doing this tomorow. It's down the road plans

Yes, I have put a motor in before. I put this motor in the car with the help of some freinds.

Jesus man, you piss and moan when I do stuff on my own and you complain when I ask questions.

I think so. I hold the orignial title, i just need to change it over. I haven't done that as I have no reason. Not like I drive the car. I asked a serious question, on something I didn't know the answer to. People helped me, then you jump in with anotehr put down. Am I wrong for my comment?

a serious question? bullshiznit!

you've been on this site long enough to know, there's virtually no difference between the two motors. you had an explorer head thread like 2 months ago.

ill call bullshiznit again on the title, as last week you said what paper work you had was nowhere near a title.

That was for the TC parts car, not the Fila. I have all the Probate court papers that I need to transfer the title over. I just need to do so

I know they are the same motor, to an extent. I want to know how diferent they really are.

I belive the thread you are talking about was shoud I go EFI in the car.

I just wana learn a bit about the car and the motor that could go into it. I'm sorry if this makes you un-happy. Just don't read the thread
