What a difference! I've fallen in love with the tbird all over again

Not like I ever really fell out of love, but I'm definitely reinsprired...

preface...
Driving down the road back in June, suddenly my engine just shut off, and rolled to a stop with the AC blowing and the radio cranked on my way back to work from lunch. I pulled over trying to start it back up again but it wouldn't crank. Could hear the fuel pump engaging, even reset it, and it would torque over and try to crank over but it wouldn't start. Was in the shop for about 2 weeks as they solved the mystery. Apparently my ignition control module went, which somehow caused the engine to go backwards, which basically made my timing chain look really cool and useless... In the mean time I bought my first car other than the tbird and prepared for the worst and hoped for the best with the tbird. I had known for years something was going to bite me in the ass on the car if things didn't smooth out so I could put the money into it that it needed. Anyhow

Present day...
What a freaking difference the new timing chain made! That whole idle problem I used to have that theres a 2 year old thread floating around here somewhere about finally cleared up. I've reset the idle, tps, and cleaned out all the throttlebody related stuff a thousand times and could never find it. That went away. When you start it up, the idle just goes up for a moment like its supposed to, then smooths right out, doesn't hunt for it at all after it comes down. Also the throttle response is much better. Revs up, and then drops right back down. Runs like a dream other than still being an SO engine. Really reinspired me to continue with it now as a stress free project car instead of my daily driver to 2 jobs. I think I've even got a new direction I'd like to take it...

I've almost had to get rid of it already and I really hope it doesn't come down to that, but if it does I'll have to do the mature thing and take care of business But I'm not foreseeing any reason I should have to sell it now. Things should be totally cleared up in a few months and then my money won't be tight regardless so I'm gonna hang on to it. After not driving it for so long, when I climbed back into it after a month of it being at the shop, even after driving the new GT for a month, it felt unique and special. So I've gotta make it something really cool. I'm wanting to do something totally different than what I had in mind. A lot of people are telling me to leave it the same color, which I was probably going to do with a sort of old school drag look, but I'm thinking about making it more of a street car, black and lowered to match the stang.

Anyhow, thanks for reading if you did, just wanted to share my love for these cars with like minded people. A lot of people have straight up told me thunder chickens are junk, it was a failed attempt at making a luxory car more sporty, blah blah blah, but I couldnt disagree more. yeah they're big and heavy, but they are prettier and so much different than every other 87-93 stang you see.

That sounds great. Keep at it. Like I've said before your car was just testing you. Sounds like you passed the test.

That cool man, glad to hear you are going to keep at it.  I was triing to sell the bird but now I decided to order a rebuild kit and build it up to my original plans, and give it a proper repaint, to get rid of the orange peel.
