Look how wide the accesory brackets are.I vote, with NO knowlage on the subject, maybe just some swapped parts onto an 84 GT motor. Change the VC's, intake and carb and all accesory brackets... there ya go

FWIW I WANT!!!!!!!!!!!!! those valve covers

Well that's not a stock Mustang 5.0 carb.  They used Holley 4180's, which that is not.

Looks like a mid 80's 302 with an old 289 intake and Shelby valve covers to me. Fila: that accessory bracket isn't as wide as it looks - the alternator is only bolted on with one bolt and flipped to the side in that pic. If it was properly bolted on it'd be right next to the tensioner.

A York compressor with a serpentine clutch. Off-roaders would definitely like that!

Not for $500....

I don't think it's a Mustang engine...at least not with that A/C compressor.  They used the longitudinally-mounted ones, not the transverse ones.  The engine on my '80 302 in the XR-7 has that compressor. (notice the serp pulley on the AC and v-belt everywhere else)

My bet is that it is an older engine with the later accessories (save for the AC) on it.

If I can snag it for $100 I'm in, otherwise I don't care. The valve covers are the only remotely interesting thing on it too me.

The York compressor came on 1980-1984 4.2/5.0 Mustangs with dealer air.

The York compressor also came on '80-'81 5.0L Thunderbirds with Factory A/C.
