mp3 Cd's

well just a simple question here . every time i make a mp3 cd with alot of cd's and such. i play them in my car and they seem to play fine but every once in a while they seem to skip but dont like a hesitation almost. or sounds like dirt on the lens or you know that poping sound. now i know it's not the player bc i have put it in a buddys car and it does the same thing. but on a computer it reads fine. could it be the cd player? or is it that it does skip part of the song bc it's not really a music cd im making just a bunch of files that the player can read.?

I have experienced a situation like this the past week. It was with an Audio CD. I have recorded the CD (Sony) in my old LG CDRW. The burning process was completed sucessfully. Put the new CD in a conventional CD player and it hears with a lot of bad noises, like the cd was sratched. I Put in the computer and it plays very fine. I Put the Cd in a Sony Cd player and plays very fine too. I have burn the same compilation in another brand-name cd and played very fine. I recommend to try to burn with another brand Cd´s. In this form, you can discard if the problem was a defective cd (not very uncommon in sony cd´s) or maybe your CDRW drive needs some cleaning.

Maybe it helps buying a "cleaner cd" if the CDRW drive is dirty from the lens....

good idea on the cleaning ' i have one upstairs think i'll try it out.

lots of things will make an mp3 jump. it has the same info as a wav file in about 1/10th the size. scratches or just being dirty will kill an mp3 disk. I cannot keep my disks in good enough condition to use for more then 1 month or 2. also if you have a really cheap mp3 player, it will have a cruddy mp3 decoder. If you want your mp3 cd's to last longer get more expensive disks. also put labels on them. most of the scratches that disable my cd's come from the top and scratch all the way to the data.
