It works pretty good, not as well as it would on a 87-88 car. There are 3 separate lights in the taillights 2 of them face backwards and one faces towards the side. Even with just the 2 lights from behind it still looked pretty cool.

I ask again, because I really like the lights. How hard would it be to re-wire to fit the 86 lights into my 84? Just switching the bulbs around?

I would assume that it would be that easy but as I have not looked at the 84 lights I can't tell you for sure. Maybe someone else could help?

check out cool cats under the stock/mod info under the tail light modifications... suposedly, it takes alot of time and work. But the sequencer and resell the tail lights...

Thats for cougar lights. I think they were different. 83-4 and 85-6 Look the same, and look like they would fit. Wiring shouldn't be hard either, just the arangement of bulbs is what I think. I wana get these and try
