Forza 2 ***(56k Warning)***

The 2 things Forza 2 is missing... Cool engine sounds (most of the engines sound the same) and pen 15pit view. GT5 looks alot like PGR 3&4... and that's not a bad thing! I'll never get to experience GT5 but I hope to have PGR 4 soon:) I guess that'll have to do.

Unfortunately, PGR4 can't hold a candle graphically to GT5.  Yet again, I can't think of a racing game that does.  Also, PGR has more of an arcade twist on things, while GT is and always will be a sim.  PGR is very fun, though.  If I had a 360, I'd buy PGR way before I'd buy Forza.

For me, however, the MAIN thing that they need to fix in GT is the AI.  It has been basically the same since the first GT on PSOne with only minor adjustments here and there.  With PS3, there is NO excuse for them to not ramp up the AI.  Anyone who has played GT Legends and/or GTR2 on PC know how AI should be.  Those two games have it spot on.  I've raced side by side with a single AI car through several turns before.  That's how it should be.

As for damage models, Polyphony is saying that they are working on a damage model right now, but it will only be applied to the cars whose makers will allow their cars to be damaged.  For me, I could care less about damage because I normally stay off the walls and other cars, and also, GT can be frustrating enough already.  And more options for car modding (like Forza, where you can put turbos on anything, do NA tunes on anything, swap drivetrains, etc) would be awesome.  But through those few complaints, the thing that keeps me coming back to GT is the car physics.  Ever since the first GT, the GT games have always felt right.  Too many racing games make it feel like youre driving on ice (and no, I never play racing games with assists).  I've played Forza, and it felt that way to me also.  Other than Gran Turismo, only GT Legends and GTR2 have achieved the "right" feel, for me anyway.  I'll take great driving cars over more modding options any day.

The other thing I love about the GT series is the attention to detail.  Nothing bothers me more than a car model that doesn't look quite right.  Even way back on PS1, the GT games have always had the best, most accurate car models.  Then when GT made the move to PS2, I was really disappointed that there was still no animated driver or rendered interiors (with the exception of convertibles in GT4 that you could only race against 1 opponent in arcade mode).  But now on PS3, I realize Polyphony is only doing what they've done in the past - they didn't implement it until they could do it just right.  In GTHD, the driver animations are simply amazing.  The way the driver leans in the corner, during braking, during a drift, etc, is just perfect (you can even see in the pics I posted how he's leaning with the drift).  And watching the car go through S bends as the driver fights the wheel doing hand-over-hand is something I've yet to see in other games.  Also, from what I've seen, the interiors are just as beautiful and accurate as the exteriors that the GT games have been known for.

GT4's Ring > Forza 2's Ring

GT5 > *

Playing GTHD Preview on the PS3 in Toys-R-Us makes me want to sell my PS2 and a bunch of other stuff just to get one...

Never played GT4. Wanted to though... My roommate at the time bought an Xbox and Forza and I just completely forgot about it. Didn't help that someone stole my PS2.

Unless I sell my 360 it's very unlikely I will get a PS3 or play GT5 either... which sux because I am a PS fanboy at heart. GT5 brings the list of games I would want to a total of "3". And 2 of those are in the FFXIII series. I just can't see myself giving up playing Halo 3 or Gears of War with my uncle and cousins over XBL.

Hey Kingcars, do you have a switch or dual inputs for your monitor's vga cables? I want to move my 360 from the TV to my desk, but I don't want to pull the  cable out every time I need to use my PC.

I'm actually using DVI, and no, I do not have a switch yet.  I can't find one here that's not fancy and expensive.  There's one at some UK site for like 10 Euros that's exactly what i need...just 2 DVI inputs and 1 output and a manual switch between them.  If I could just get one here...

Back to the cars of Forza 2...

My favorite car on ALL racing games, sim or not. The Skyline.

This Modified Version sports +200mph, 0-150mph in stoopid flat, handles great, and completely unsuspecting to the unknowing. All untuned. I love letting n00bs pick whatever supercar they want and wiping that smug grin off of their face once the light turns go.

Next closest thing to a Skyline...

I HATE this car. I expected more from the RX-8. I can't get this thing to stay on the road.

This Porsche is awesome. I love it... but not as much as the Skyline.

A Mine's Skyline is unsuspecting?  Hmmmmm

At least, from my Gran Turismo experience, I know those to be quite fast.

Here is the newest thing outta my gates

The Kanji reads Honda Drifting(Im not sure if its correct tho because i used google translator)

The CRX sports a fully tuned S2000 engine and tranny. A drift crx is certainly something i have not seen on forza but i recently just got into the whole drift thing on Forza.

Is anyone else disappointed with the next car pack , in my opinion there are too many exotics, in fact the only car in the next pack that even interests me is the Evo X.

The Maserati should be pretty awesome, and that's not a supercar. (it's bad when you know about downloadable packs for a game you've never played)
