Blew Out 3rd On My Aod Shyt!!!

 !!! last night i was in the highway and i was just  hittin gthe gas when i kept pushing down and down it was going and then i was at about 70 i think and it hear liek an over rev and im liek wtf?? and then the car just kept reving like as if i were in nuetral. and it staed at around 50 cause it wouldnt change.. is teh transmission done??? what can i do??  this freakin suks!!!!!!!

Check your TV cable at the throttlebody and make sure it did not come off.

well i jsut check the tb and its not off and im thinkin maybe i could tightin up da line at teh bottom on were it shifts???

I don't understand why so many of you guys are breaking the lock-up shaft in these trannies...especially as mild as your combo's are...I've seen two or three SO cars with low mileage break 'em around my way and now it sounds like you got the same situation.

iv blown up three aode's in my 95 gt and the 2nd and third were built pretty heavily. i no it is a diff trans all together... just thought id share.

Pretty much the same as an AOD.

Agreed.  WOT 2-3 shift in my setup is at an advertised 85 MPH according to my speedo (actual is 86-87).  It's done it often and is still in one piece.  That's happening at 6000 RPM to boot

Yep I blew 3 myself, everytime I lost OD.. Go with a t-5 swap :)

well mine was from a 3.8 and it just blre third with 180 miles on teh tranny.  i guess ill rebuild the one i that came with the 5.0 now
