Gran Turismo May 09, 2007, 08:46:07 PM Anybody here play GT? I've been playing since it came out...it was the first game I ever got with my first console, a PlayStation (yeah...I never got an NES or SNES...lame). Since then I've been a pretty big fan. There are better racing sims on PC (GT Legends, GTR2), but the accuracy of the car models and everything in GT are unsurpassed. Here is an album of some pics I took:http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v173/kingcars/Gran%20Turismo%204/My favs are my supercharged silver Z06 and GT350 Stang. If you want pics of any car in the game, ask me and I can take some for you. These also make great desktop backgrounds. If you want to share pics, just hook a flash drive into your PS2's USB port, and when you save pics in photo mode, you can save them to the flash drive. Gran Turismo Reply #1 – May 09, 2007, 09:30:14 PM i loved it when i played video games alot last one i had was number 3, now im obsessed with forza, and im getting a 360 just for forza 2 Quote Selected
Gran Turismo Reply #2 – May 09, 2007, 09:35:09 PM I played the first Forza and wasnt impressed. The physics felt way off; no matter how many other features a sim may have, if it doesnt feel right, I'm not picking it up.PS - GT4 >>>>>> GT3 Quote Selected
Gran Turismo Reply #4 – May 09, 2007, 09:51:31 PM GT4 = car heaven. Still has py AI, but the BSpec mode, photo mode, and HUNDREDS OF CARS is too good to stay away from. Quote Selected
Gran Turismo Reply #5 – May 09, 2007, 10:52:50 PM Personally i loved Forza 1 and cant wait for forza 2 although they seem content to push it back almost every month.Gues i would rather have a finished and polished game rather than something that was rushed out.I have ever since the GT series came out hated it, the car control seems arcadish to me and well its on the gaystation3, screw sony. And before anyone goes screaming 360 fanboy, i hate sony for legitimate reasons 1. Their Holier than Thou attitude2. Closing Lik-sang down3. py ProductsTo expand on reason 3 i bought a sony atracplus3 cd player a year ago, it got the usual wear and tear a cd player gets.Just a few months ago i go and boot it up and the thing does not work. That experience really soured me on Sony products then they go and close lik-sang further g me off. Quote Selected
Gran Turismo Reply #6 – May 09, 2007, 10:58:04 PM yea thats waht i love about forza the cars act so much more real, in gt games you can do shiznit that would never happen Quote Selected
Gran Turismo Reply #7 – May 09, 2007, 11:00:53 PM GT4 is great, except that half the cars are the '70s puppies cars. Only two Mustangs: GT350 and '00 Cobra R. Good, but could be sooo much better. Quote Selected
Gran Turismo Reply #8 – May 09, 2007, 11:39:11 PM Yeah they need to step up the American lineup some, but its gettin better. In GT1, all you could get were a few Vettes.@ the Forza fanboys: Turn off assists in GT . Especially with a Driving Force Pro...it's amazing. Forza may have damage, but it doesnt make it realistic since the cars drive like they're on ice. I HATE racing games that feel like youre driving on ice. And screw damage models; if youre any good, you wont have to worry about them. Thats my 2 cents. GT does have the worst AI ever, however. But I dont play it for that. And besides, if you want REAL RACING with REAL damage models and amazing AI, get GT Legends or GTR2. The best sim racing games ever made. Period.Oh, there are THREE Mustangs....you forgot the 05 Quote Selected
Gran Turismo Reply #9 – May 10, 2007, 12:47:49 AM I go with Need For Speed Underground or Most Wanted. That way I get to drive rice burners. Thats the only time I ever get to crash them. I do like the Goat on there, sounds pretty mean for a video game on surround sound. Quote Selected
Gran Turismo Reply #10 – May 10, 2007, 12:51:21 AM I have ALL the GT's. My favorite racing game, hands down. Love how the sounds are FINALLY different for all the cars. You can actually tell who is coming up behind you by the sound now. Quote Selected
Gran Turismo Reply #11 – May 10, 2007, 01:32:18 AM Yeah, GT has always had good sounds, but their sounds for the muscle cars have been weak, and thats an understatement. There's no way a 1970 Chevelle 454 is as quiet as it is in GT4, especially when compared to other cars. Quote Selected
Gran Turismo Reply #12 – May 10, 2007, 01:36:31 AM Yes that is the reason that I bought the playstation 1 in the 1st place. A buddy came over with GT the day it came out. The next day I bought at PS1 and GT with a memory card. I love all the GT games. In GT one give me the GTO fully dressed and any track and I will SMOKE you time and time again. If I pick the track I don't want to here you complain. I will own you THAT IS JUST HOW IT IS!!! I still own the others even GT4 very very nice games. I love them all!! Quote Selected
Gran Turismo Reply #13 – May 10, 2007, 06:54:44 AM I completed 78% of GT3 but I never got too far into GT4 because Forza came out right after it did and I prefered Forza because of the customization and tuning. Although resently as soon as I started playing GT4 again my PS2 ped out and stopped working... POS! Good thing I've got Forza 2 reserved:D BTW, the solution to py AI is Xbox Live. Quote Selected
Gran Turismo Reply #14 – May 10, 2007, 07:18:22 AM NFS-U and MW are good for what they are, but as far as reals sims go, GT4 can't be touched. Has anyone seen the press clips from GT-HD for PS3? Quote Selected
