G0 outside!!!.

Yep!,

I'll put the Bird out of the garage this Friday, I'll post a pics of this fresh painted "" here as well...

But I have a little question, the bird is dark blue metallic, and I like the chrome grill on a dark car, but My grill chrome is a little bit faded, but clean, I have another 1985 grille purchased on ebay last year don't look clean, faded a lot, ect...

I want to try to paint this grille, I have a couple of idea, such as.

Outside same color of the car, center trim black (same as the hood traps).

Or trim black with the center matte...

What do You think?, or any good suggestion...

Best regards,

Dom.

i'd paint the outer part of the grille body color, and the center black. With the outer part body color,it blends it all together, gives it a "finished right" look.

I think you should paint the inner part of the headlight buckets body color, and leave the chrome "strip" on the outside. Gives it a little "flare". Paint the grill like Vinnie said. I painted the inner part of some headlight buckets I have looks good, but I did the wrong color:punchballs:

Okay, My Bird is finally on the road since March 29, and run great as well, and Finally I decided to paint the front grill as the body color, with the "grillage" semi gloss black, and I'll keep the eye buckets semi gloss black with the little thin chrome outside...

I'll post a pic of the "beauty" soon with the stock chrome grill, and I'll post another ones when I'll paint the "setup" this next week IF I have the time to do...

I'll post a pic in a couple of days of the Bird...

Regards,

Dom.

Good work.I have always thought that if you paint the whole grille black, then it looks like it is waiting for paint,or it came from a black car. That's why I won't paint my scoops black in my TC hood after the car is painted green.Black scoops don't "blend".I like everything to look like it belongs that way,not like I used a rattle can custom paint job.

And the april 1st or around here we received over a feet of show,  shiznit!!!, and so cool outside, I'll post some pics of the bird when the snow was out, and the car cleaned.

Last saturday, I was at Boucherville visiting a Friend, arrived at 11pm, and when I go out of there to go home, around a quarter inch of  snow again, and I'm on a summer tires, I'm pissed off of snow, for Me "it's time to drive the bird", not plow the snow:beatyoass: ...

When I had a chance I'll come back...

Vinnie,

I dont like the snow when My Bird is outside!!!, I have a truck for the snowshiznit!!! :D ...

Today it was so cold too, the snow disappear very very slowly, and the Bird is rough on gas consumption cauz he have a 160` thermostat, and the TC hood blow a lot of cold air in the carb, But I GUESS this will be okay in JULY:hick:

We're lucky down here in Oklahoma, our winter lasts about 6 or 8 weeks, and even then,it's barely coat weather.A good medium weight jacket is fine.We usually have 1 day, maybe two of snow, and it's melted away mostly in about 24 hours. We're doing good.If it gets down in the 60's we think it's cold.In the summer we've had near 114 degrees.Aaaaaaaaaaaah, now that's nice weather.LOL.
