I need to get the retainer clips for the fuel lines and then the tank will be in the hole!! First thing to be bought new for the car is gonna be filter rp oil, plugs and wires cap and rotor. Hopefully my dad is sending enough for that.... Then im saving for my new 2 1/2 h-pipe. Any of you know how you get the side trim on?? i need to get it back on it looks py without it! Quote Selected
I BOUGHT THE LINCOLN (pics page 5,7) Reply #95 – April 14, 2007, 11:04:44 AM Ok i got the fuel lines on the tank all the wireing and the vent hooked up, drill the hole for the bolt, hang the straps stick the tank under, jack it to the floor, pull over the straps, AND THEY DON"T REACH!!! Upon further inspection the straps say for a ford thunderbird, is this my problem? If i take the plastic shield off, the straps fit but VERY tightly. I need input, cause i want this sucker in TODAY! I BOUGHT THE LINCOLN (pics page 5,7) Reply #100 – April 14, 2007, 11:17:32 AM Nevermind then. Can the tank be slightly moved a little? Can you pull the strap a little more?It looks like there's some slack in there. Quote Selected
I BOUGHT THE LINCOLN (pics page 5,7) Reply #101 – April 14, 2007, 11:17:58 AM i think something is off i mean it just doesn't seem right..... im fitly covered in rust chips and getting frustrated so now im cooling off before i go outside take it all down and go threw it again to make sure its right. If only i knew what right was.The straps don't fit to the tank or the cover remember in those pics theres no plastic shield, so without the shield its no good anyway. i think i might have to shift the tank over one notch im not sure. Im waiting on input from LoL. Quote Selected
I BOUGHT THE LINCOLN (pics page 5,7) Reply #102 – April 14, 2007, 11:59:35 AM Quote from: daboss351;139981Mark Vii and thunderbird have the same gas tank and straps i just found out on the lincoln forum, so thats not the problem.....Yup, I swapped a '86 LSC tank into a '87 TC, same stuff... Well I did have to swap the gage sender...Guessing maybe you have straps for a earlier Tbird with the 18 gal tank...I should still have a set of perfect strap's from a '87 Sport, I can measure them if you'd like...
