Those base door panels and seats are normal in an '87 Sport.

Just a thing to add about that parts TC, that you made me think about in your thread about the Sport - my TC did not have the systems sentry panel. It had a blank panel with just the cig lighter, just like your Sport. I'm using it in my car to replace the home made panel I had installed when I first did the console swap.

As for that Luxury Light Group - it must have been available a-la-carte, as my '88 has the hood light (still works!) and the dual-beam dome light (I thought all Fords from about 1972-1990 used that same dome light, the big chrome one with ugly white lens and two "fisheyes"), but it had plain visors (no lights, no mirrors, no nuthin') and doesn't have the rear lights, I/P courtesy lights (I assume you mean the ones that light your feet up) or illuminated entry. Of course, thanks to the parts TC it has all of that now, except illuminated entry

What ever I can do to help out in dospoogeenting my bird, just let me know. If i have a list of options, I'll go through and post them. I can also list everthing on the Fila add I got from Mike. Just let me know what I can do, I'm more then willing to do the work to get this right

There's a list on the bottom of Page 1 of every paint color (and interior color) for TBirds (including TC spefic lists) as stated in the Ford publications. I'm working on the options list now.

Mike, I've got some additional info from the Cougar side, as for the colors and interior combinations, that are in the dealer order books. Some of what you have doesn't correlate to what I have. I will be making my lists as well and will let you know.

That list is only TBird's, and comes from the NOS brochures. I have no idea as to how "accurate" it is, but it seems solid enough.

"I can tell you that according to the 1987 Ford Parts Catalog, Paint code 14 is Light Charcoal Metallic. I have found that the name in the Parts or Paint catalogs do not always equate to what was listed in the Thunderbird Sales Catalog.

I know that there are diferent mixtures when you give a paint code to the supplier. When I painted my Code 26 Medium Red Clearcoat, they two mixtures - one lighter & one darker. I know that the Bright Silver Ford put on the Tbirds had 3 different mixtures. "

Holy cow...somebody had some time to kill tonight. ;)

Well, while this g match was going on, I updated the 1984 Cougar color page: http://www.coolcats.net/fox/1984colors.html

It now reflects ALL correct interior color codes and materials, the correct factory vinyl top colors, the correct pinstriping color codes, and what interior colors were available with what exterior colors. So now someone has a base upon which to start the correct combinations for 1984 Cougars (and probably almost all '84 T-Birds). I'll have the 1985-86 colors done within the next few weeks. Possibly the '83 colors also.

Of interesting note: it was possible to have a 1984 Dark Academy Blue Metallic Clearcoat Cougar with a Canyon Red interior. Why? I would love to know myself. Again, this was Ford, in 1984. Who the hell knows. ;)

Anyway...I'm pretty tired of reading these verbal volleys here so I suggest we keep two separate databases for the time being. Everyone seems to be happy enough with both. We'll all contribute to both, where possible...it's not that difficult to copy and paste info. No big deal from where I sit.

Please...just chill already.

Cause Dark Blue with a Red interior is PIMP!! I still want to swap a porno red leather setup into a Shadow Blue 88 TC with moonroof for a DD. Mmmmm!

Hey Mike! Just noticed your reply. Sorry about the apparent blooper. My source for that paint name I listed was from the 'Cars and Parts Magazine Catalog of Thunderbird ID Numbers 1955-1993' This a scan of the '87 and '88 paint code section, I guess their sources were off, sorry about that!:D

Recently I also remembered that I had gotten this from ebay awhile ago, and forgotten about it:dunce: . This set of paint chips and codes covers 1984-1989. If theres anything you'd like to see, let me know and I can post other scans, or set the up for you to download. Let me know!:D

Holy Cow! The 2nd one shows 5 different reds just for 87! And there were only 2 reds when you combine the base/LX/Sport Birds with the TC's.

Scarlet Red, which is not a metallic, and Medium Red Clearcoat Metallic. That's 5 reds mixed for 2 reds coded. Hmmm...

A friend of mine's parents had a '79 T-Bird that was metallic green with a red interior. Thing looked like a Christmas party gone horribly wrong.
