A rediculous story that I must tell... UPDATE 1/28

I can either make this a really long story or a really short one. For the sake of you guys, here's the short story:

A girl didnt wanna go out with me cause she likes the guy (the defendant) in this article better:

To sum this guy up, here is what I know about him:

- His mom was a coworker of mine and she got fired for backstabbing everyone that worked there.
- He got this girl fired from her work by cussing in the middle of the store, talking trash about everyone that worked there. She had previously been told to keep him out of the store for obvious reasons.
- He got caught drawing pics of nude women on the walls of his [ex] place of work. He got fired from his work as a result of the previous event.
- He's on trial for manslaughter, and from the looks of the case, is probably going to jail.

And trust me, this isnt even 1/4th of the whole story. If you guys would like the whole story, I'd be happy to share it, but there's a lot involved.

Would someone like to explain to me how this guy could ever make a good boyfriend/father/role model/etc? I just fail to see the logic here.

Some girls really know how to pick a winner, that's all I can say.

I dealt with that numerous times, finally met a girl that is a sweetheart and treats me great. AND she recognized what a good guy I am (finally!).

I guess you just gotta give it time and/or multiple tries.

Here I am, 18 years old, and Ive been: dumped for another GIRL, dumped for a 47 year old, and now I lose out to a murderer? I guess the next girl I come across is gonna dump me for her cousin or somethin. Every time I think I've seen the worst, something comes along to take the throne.

All I can do is keep on truckin...there are already a few interesting opportunities on the horizon. Eventually, something's gotta give. I have to win at somepoint (at least I hope so). I'll either win or die tryin.

Oh believe me, there is a lot to not understand.

This girl I knew was led around by some guy who eventually cleared out her bank account and downright lied to her as she eventually found he was a drug dealer.

The girl and I had known eachother, liked eachother and were starting to date. One day while I was at work, I called her and she sounded completely different. Apparently, that day, she was at the mall and met some random guy and she went straight to him. Kicked me clear to the curb. Every once in a while I hear how he is an ass and she isn't happy but hey, it was her decision and it's not my fault it was the wrong one.

Don't feel too bad though, you're only 18. I'm going on 22 and still can't catch a break. I'm the typical nice guy whos a great friend. I wish I had a dollar every time I've heard that.

Man, trust me, I've been there and done that a million times already myself. The girl I'm talkin about in topic topic told me the same thing. "I see you more as a good friend right now." Can you say, "Story of my life" ?

Been there too, sorta (my last ex) and yeah it does suck. I've run the gauntlet myself, been dumped for exes, best friends, etc.

I'm 26, my new girlfriend (we've actually only been "exclusive" for about 2 or 3 weeks now) is 29, and it's working very well. Being that she is older she is more mature than younger girls and knows what she wants. And she's a lawyer which can always be useful ;)

That's great! That entire thing is soooo true.

I've been thinking I'm going to end up with an older woman. I have no problem with that what-so-ever.

It's just a matter of her state of mind. Even though I'm a mature level headed person and know what I want to do in life, in her eyes, I'm a typical 21 year old 'kid'.

EDIT: Something funny I thought Id add...a few weeks ago when 'she' was still workin, he had visited her and I walked by and they were just jokin around about how thin I am, and he made some smartass comment like "Heh well I wear big boy pants." I was like "Well those big boy pants sure aint gonna do you any good in jail, asshole."

Not that I think you're gonna listen to an old guy

but you young'uns are working on a bad assumption here. MOST women are not looking for a nice/good guy. They're more attracted to men that treat them like dirt. What would they want with a man that isn't "exciting" and gives them no reason to bitch about him to their girlfriends?

You want a woman that really is looking for a nice guy (not just saying she is) you have to have a lot of patience, they're few and far between. Good news is that if you do find one she's usually got her head on pretty straight and if she decides you're the one you're done looking. I know it's an alien word to guys your age but patience is required, they're out there but tough to get a shot at.

Even from my short lifespan, my experiences have lead me to that conclusion. Just before the end of last semester, a friend and I were jokin around like "Wow, we should go walkin through the mall acting like asses! We'd get tons of chicks! It's like they enjoy going home and getting slugged in the face or somethin."

I clearly see that as well, but I don't understand the extreme cases (beatings, constant harassment etc.)

I am in no way an ass when I initially meet a woman. It takes me a little while to get to know her before I learn how to push her buttons and then I can be an ass from time to time (for fun, not to hurt her in any way). It's just that I'm not being given an initial chance that me off. I'm not going to walk up and punch some girl I like to prove that I can be an ass to get her to date me.

The night I went out with that girl was my first ever glimpse at "having a chance." Apparently, being a gentlemen wasnt what she was lookin for. Hopes of a chance gone.
