Compatible seats? January 13, 2007, 10:26:12 PM Been thinking about ditching my cloth seats for leather. What sort of donors are there? Lincoln MK 7 seats are pretty sweet and I'm reasonably sure the front ones would bolt in...what about the back? Quote Selected
Compatible seats? Reply #1 – January 14, 2007, 07:48:20 PM The fronts will but I'm not sure about the back. The back seats look very similar to the ones in our cars. Only way to know is to try it :D Quote Selected

Compatible seats? Reply #3 – January 14, 2007, 09:09:02 PM Mk 7 seats will fit (front and rear). The rear backs are a little tight in a Tbird, but they do fit. Had one in one of the '83's for a while. Quote Selected

Compatible seats? Reply #7 – January 15, 2007, 05:01:20 PM The seats from the old Escort GT's will also fit.I had a set of halo seats from one in my other Bird a few years ago. Quote Selected
Compatible seats? Reply #8 – January 20, 2007, 07:47:27 PM Tbird seats are awful :barf: ....The front seats from a 90's explorer will also fit, that's what I'm rolling with. They're very supportive to your back and comfortable. (I think rangers of that same era have the same/similar seats.) I did have to cut off the center console from the old Tbird driver seat and then weld it on to the explorer driver seat. I switched the electric track from my old seats to my new ones and it was virtually a perfect swap, except that I had to thread two holes (that were already on the explorer seat) to accept the bolts securing the track to the seat, and cut off a supporting bracket under the explorer seats. I've been procrastinating on getting them reuphostered to match the rest of my interior--they're gray and my interior is blue. Quote Selected

Compatible seats? Reply #12 – January 20, 2007, 09:11:10 PM Then they aren't "Pace Car" seats... ; )This is a Pace Car seat Quote Selected
Compatible seats? Reply #13 – January 20, 2007, 09:16:32 PM Alright. but the car had the "pace car" paper under the dash from the factory.Meh, the car is long gone.. and the seats will be too.. eventually. Thanks for pointing that out Chuck. Quote Selected
Compatible seats? Reply #14 – January 20, 2007, 09:20:07 PM I have the factory Fila seats in mine. I guess they are either a T/c seat or Stang' seat. They are wrapped in factory white leather, now cracked and cut and torn. Sorry I don't have a direct picture Quote Selected
