Fenders

Ok well when i first got the car a couple years ago, it had the corner or curb lights in the fender. well i hit a deer and i had to replace the headerpanel, headlights, grill left fender and hood. im pretty sure im ganna have to strighten out the core support if i cant find on on a junker. the car is stright though. since the cornering lamps and trim is hard to find, or on ebay when i dont have the money i've decided i want to get the fenders that didnt come with those holes. i always thought the v6 birds came without the lights, but i've been reading and looking around and it seems that cougar fender fit too. so what models came with the fenders without the holes that would fit an 87. my plan is to take all of the moulding besides the moulding behind the rear wheels off. shave the door handles (leave the keyless entry panel) and shave the bird emblems off the c pillar. also go with a turbo coupe hood. so any help letting me know where i can get the fenders without the holes would be appreciated. oh, and i know a couple people have shaved the trim from thier birds, how does it look with a stock front bumper. b/c it has a protrustion that continues the tim around the front bumper. does that stick out? im really picky.

I can answer your fender question easily.

You can get a fender without the corner lights from any '87-'88 Tbird or Cougar that doesn't have cornering lights.

The cornering lights were optional on both Tbirds and Cougars V-6 and V-8, didn't make a difference. If you don't want them anymore, you could just replace the fender with one from a car that doesn't have them.

Thinking too, if your right fender is fine, you may be able to pull a piece of moulding off a non-lighted fender and just place it on your right fender covering the hole. Both cheaper and easier than replacing the fender.

FWIW, where I am, there aren't very many 87-88 tbirds in the jy's, so odds are, you'll be looking at every one available til you find one you need.

WHAT SIDE YOU NEED? says you replaced the left side (driver or pass. left)

Where are you located? got a white one with the cornering light hole. sell you cheap

nah it came stock with the cornering lights. in the accident the left (driver) side light was totaled. i got one with the hole in, but i dont have tht trim infront or behind the hole on the driver side. i got sick of the unsimetry of the trim piece on the pass, so i took it off. so on the pass i only have the trim behind the wheel. my plan is to get rid of the trim all together except behind the rear wheels. the car already has the body line, and i think if the trim was removed which is fading vynle, i think it'd look really clean. i'd like to get driver and pass both without the light. there are 2, and 87 and 88 at the pull a part and im ganna see if it has no lights in them. if they do and the trim is intact i might as well just go ahead and replace mine with those. i bet both fenders would prolly be 20 dollars.

bet you could keep the fender lights and get rid of the trim weld some bolts in the holes for the trim and BAM! i like the fenderlights but on the highway in my 86 no body can tell im trying to get over.

think it would look good with lights and no trim. custom touch
