Ugh, people do some stupid stuff. (rant)

Well, the story goes... I was selling the chevelle to a guy that seemed very interested in it.. he sent me some money... "Very Urgent." as at the top of all the emails he sent me.

The guy sent me $6700 in checks... and wanted me to wire the rest of the money through western union. BUT that was the flaw in his plan... My banker checked the check that I was deducting my share from... heh 45 minutes later she hands me back my savings card and politely says " Sir, I'm sorry to say this.... But you are a victim of fraud. Every one of these 5 checks this guy sent you are fake."

(blood begins to boil)

I was like, alright... I was gonna send the "Checks" back to the guy.. and the bank said they couldnt let me do that... So I jump in the bird and take off like a bat out of hell.. and get back to my house. After a little bit of deliberation on how to send an email with the least ammount of cusswords I sent him an email about how the bank told me that that checks were fraud...

then the prick gets on and tells me "Well I would never do such a thing! You just want to play around with my ""Client"" cause you said you already cashed the check..."

(ears are steaming)

Moral of this story, Theres a Fraud going around.. if you get a ginormous check for somthing have your bank check it out.

Anybody else got a story like this?

Yeah, that's a common scam, it is. I had somebody try that on me when I was trying to sell the Volvo.

Happens all the time, my wife works at a bank so I get to hear all the latest in scams. Best ones are when they send you extra money to pay the transport company as well as the car and then you unknowingly ship your car and later get the ever so wonderful news that its fraud. Its so bad now ebay changed there auto auctions to no longer list bidder ids so they cant try 2nd chance offers. I bought a 87 bird off ebay and went to pick it up(it was only 50 miles away) anyhow someone scammed the ladies account and was selling a BMW using her account. She didnt know till she was charged the fees and of course the winner was looking for where their money went.

I was selling a laptop on eBay and someone used the bought it now. I was really excited, I got an email saying to send it too some forgin country and that the check was in the mail.

I replied saying money first then ship, there reply was "that is why I use buy it now! so you can send it to me!" about four hours later I get a message from eBay that is was mostly a scam user and the account was closed.

I was tried but I did not fail! lol
