I've seen it - supposedly it's from Cape Breton, NS if the email I received was true. White deer are rare here but not unheard of. I took a pic of one near Dartmouth (in a military ammunition depot known as "Magazine Hill", which has deer up the wazoo) several years ago but the only thing you can see in the pic is the eyes - the cheap 35mm camera flash made the eyes overpower the rest of the pic. A white deer also comes out in the yard across from mine occasionally, but I haven't gotten the elusive bugger on camera yet - every time I see it I go for the camera and it disappears..

i say albino adult deer are more rare than the fawns ( in the aspect of living long enough to survive with the albinoism)

It's a documented fact albino whitetail deer exist...but how long they survive is entirely another story.

That is no hoax, and i've personally seen 2 different albino deer in my lifetime, so I know personally they exist.
By the way, the 2 were 7 years apart, and were both bottle raised.

they exist, but not for long, them being as white as they are they are easily picked off by dogs, bobcats, etc. because they cannot blend in. theres also "pieballs" or mixes, my father killed a 50/50 mix 2 point buck the other year. supposedly if they go live, they dont get as big as a regular deer (im not sure y tho) but it would make sence if u saw the deer. any regular deer of the same age would probably be a 4-6 point and considerably heavier

Another white deer story: Many years ago a guy hunting out of our camp shot an enormous white buck. He wasn't a camp regular, just somebody that one of my father's friends had invited up that weekend. The deer had points all over its antlers, not in the symmetrical way that whitetail deer horns usually are, either, but sticking out everywhere. It looked like a thorn bush on the thing's head. The head itself was also deformed, looking almost like one of those Spuds Mackenzie dogs. It was not a true albino because it had brown eyes and a black nose, but its fur was as white as the driven snow. This deer weighed upwards of 250 lbs dressed (enormous for this area).

The guy that shot it lives on the Trans Canada highway near Debert, NS. He had it hanging outside his house and a trucker from Texas saw it, stopped, and bought the head from the guy for $500 (this was the 70's, so it's quite a bit of money). Somewhere in Texas this mutant deer head is hanging on somebody's wall.

I know this deer existed because there was a picture of it on the wall of our camp. Tradition has it that all deer shot out of our camp have their antlers hung on the "wall of fame" with a little note stating who shot it and when. Obviously this deer's antlers could not be displayed because the head was sold, so a photo was put up instead with the caption "40 POINT ALBINO HORSE" written under it. The pic had the guy who shot it and my father and his buddies standing next to it as it hung from the "hanging tee" next to the camp. The deer didn't really have 40 points (it was more like 26 "countable" points) but then again it wasn't really a horse either :D

The pic burned with the camp in May 2003, so I can't scan it and post it

A quick Google Image search for albino deer found a 78-pointer (first pic, not albino) and a few other freaky things near the bottom.

I googled White or Albino Deer for images and found some pretty cool pics.  I'd love to see one of these sometime:
