New to T-birds, 1st purchase

Been a Ford fan for sometime, had 2 quad light Mustangs (carbed and injected) and currently have a 94 Lightning with a 393. Went looking for a Fox bodied stang as a daily driver and found this for $2500. 1988 5.0 bird, 64K miles,  near perfect. All I have done is Pony rims and spoogehos. Let me know what you think. Not the best photo, had about a 15 minute window between rain.  As I said, daily driver for now, but a HO 5.0/T-5/TC 8.8 swap sounds like a good winter project for next year.

Pretty nice bird.  I'm surprised it cost 2500, though.

I honestly dont think you could exceed the cost of a new car buy installing new *stock* parts everywhere in your coug our tbird. Its just plain impossible. You could revamp the entire drivetrain/engine/suspenstion and still come out ahead.

Very nice and clean car. I like those pony wheels on it they are a nice touch. Amooset: not sure what you mean but up north a rust free, low mileage, 5.0 car like that could go for a lot more than 2500.

Welcome aboard..... Nice Birdie you have there.... For a nearly perfect 64K mi 5.0 Bird, $2500 ain't a bad deal.

One of the other board members also has a first gen Lightning...

Yeah, I tell you, sometimes the tools just seem to call to me in the middle of the night. "Come outside, pick us up, make the T-bird faster!"

I live even further north and mine is rust free.  Sure it's a v6, but I only paid 1300.  Maybe I got a good deal or something.  2500 just seems a little high to me.  I don't mean to be a jerk, I'm happy to have new members around here, especially when I need a little help.

the thing is, people pay what its worth to them, and people sell for what they feel its worth, i picked up both my birds for 500 each, the red one, 3.8, high milage, but rather clean and in great running shape, the TC wasnt as great, but not bad, i feel that i got great deals, because i would have been willing to pay more (well, maybe not for the TC)
It's Gumby's fault.

Thats a great price for a V8 low mileage Tbird. Id pay that all day long. The V6 motor to me is junk, hey I can say that I used to own one and tore it out lol.  :dunno:

Nice to have a fellow Gen 1 owner on the boards. Mine screams to be modded, but my bank account replies no. Got any pics of the L?
