Just might do that. Also looking to be getting a cam soon too. Get it running first then when winter hits do the big motor work. Also still trying to get the GT40's. All depends on what I pull off first, the 351 intake of the explorer intake.

If you're building a 302,you can't use a 351 intake.

He got an alterator from the s yard,plus some other items for $3.00 (not the salvgae yard,the syard for metal).It works,too.Out there,it's only $3.00 per 20 pounds of whatever.Not a bad deal.

, sounds better then any deal I could have cut ya. Heads are down the road just like the cam is. I might even just bu an Ho and use that for carb. It has the roller cam and everything already

Here's the specs...:

OK, I have a fresh 302 (maybe 304 but I don't think so) up for sale. I am parting my fox body stuff out; I have an S197 now. Many peeps have bought the other parts from me via pickup, shipping, etc. and everyone has been very happy.
The block came with the car (stock) when I bought it last year. It is an 87 so it has the better piston design than others. It hasn't been abused; I just wanted to freshen it up while it was in the machine shop for piston notching. I had AFR185 heads and an X303 so I knew it would need notched.
The block was taken apart, inspected and checked, hot tanked and reassembled with fresh bearings and rings all around. This was done by a local V8 Performance Machine Shop. I also used proper engine enamel and painted the exterior black; using masking tape to properly cover stuff that need not be coated (water plugs, etc). It looks VERY nice and it ran extremely well. As an idea of how new it is, I also put a new clutch and flywheel on at the same time (not included) and when I took them off you could not see a single mark from starting to break in; the parts look like they came out of the box! Anyways, the engine has maybe 4 hours of runtime and 100 miles on it. The oil used was Castrol GTX and it looked great. It was a very crisp running car with quick revs and smooth, beefy power. It was N/A.
I used quite a few aftermarket parts and I will include them in the sale, so it's really a bit more than a shortblock per se.

The entire setup is already bolted together. I just unbolted the heads and tranny from it and am selling it as is. Right now I have some gear oil smeared on the surface of the heads, cylinder walls and piston tops. etc.
If you didn't want to run the smog pump, P/S or A/C (such as I didn't) you could really just bolt up your alternator, heads and intake and you'd have a crate setup. I have an alternator as well if anyone is interested.
I am located in Central Ohio and will go as far as the border. I can ship via Freight as well since I have a business with a dock, etc.

Asking $500 OBO.

How many posts does he have on that forum?Itmay be alright,but I wouldn't buy an engine without seeing it,and really checking it out.I'm picky that way.

I was going to offer $400 then drop teh rest on a gasket set. I can get an intake for $40, my carb, headers, and DS2 setup. Thats a whole motor right there, with double the balls I have now I bet

Just make sure you have the right gear on the distributor for the roller engine if you do get the engine.
