no igintion key Reply #1 – September 10, 2006, 05:27:31 PM well, you can break the lock part off of the steering colum and then put a new colum in, or jb weld the lock back in. Or swap in a new colum. Or you can pull the colum out and drill out the little silver pr0ng that sticks out of the hole. But for that you will need a drill press or a really steady hand. no igintion key Reply #2 – September 11, 2006, 09:49:21 AM I've done this before. What you need to do is. First take all the plastic off the colum, then drill out the little silver pin on the botom part of the lock cylinder, then you need to break off the part where the key goes in. then you need to drill a hole right below the key hole. might be above its beed awhile. The use a flat blade to turn the key hole. turn it to the on postiion. then pull it stright out. You can buy a replacement at the parts store. $15-$20 hope this helps this way you keep the same colum just be careful not the mess up the colum. I used a dremel to drill with. There is a hardened metal plate inside the lock cyinder that needs to be removed. I just cut out the metal around it and pulled it out. then drilled right down through the pins. Wasn't bad at all.
