mark 5 lug to cougar 4?

I have a 84-85 7.5" axle that I am trying to swap into my car. The problem is, I am moving and dont have any 5-lugs that will fit it. I need to get rid of an axle, and I would rather have a 25,000 mile 3.73 rear from a car that got smashed up front, then a who knows 2.73 rear. Is there any way to make it so that the 4 lug shaft will slid into the mark rear? Can I used the 10" drums from my cougar axle on the mark one as well? Anyone able to help me out here?

I honestly dont think you could exceed the cost of a new car buy installing new *stock* parts everywhere in your coug our tbird. Its just plain impossible. You could revamp the entire drivetrain/engine/suspenstion and still come out ahead.

The early Mk7 7.5 axle housing is the same as the Mustang one which is the same as the 83-85 Tbird/Cougar 7.5. The only difference is the length of the axles.  If your Cougar 7.5 is an 86-88, then the axles and stuff you have won't work.
