EVTMs

These are probably stupid questions, but money's still really tight and I can't afford fumbling around until I find the right stuff. It's also late and I'm half coherent. :p

Occasionally I pop on Ebay looking for EVTMs for my Fords and the Fords of family members. I don't always find the exact years. Would it be a mistake to buy EVTMs for cars/trucks that are one year off from mine, but in the same model/revision/etc.? Example: I'm looking for an EVTM for my uncle's '95 F150. I found an EVTM for the '96 F-series. I double-checked, and they're both in the same body style and such. Another one is an '88 Mark VII EVTM when my D.D. is an '89. I'm aware that minor changes can and do happen from one year to the next, even if the two cars/trucks look the same.. but are these differences generally infrequent enough that I can get by just fine with these one-year-off EVTMs? I have Haynes books for some of these, but as you know they don't always cut it.

Also, does anyone know if there's a handy abbrev. for Dodge repair manuals similar to the EVTM abbrev. for Ford manuals? I did a search for "Dodge repair manual" and got a bunch of different  like Haynes books with the occasional shop manual thrown in. Also got a lot of Ram 50  when I think it's totally unrelated to my truck. I'd like to find similar books for my Ram and my grandmother's Ram van. Ebay sometimes flips out on me (not always.. go figure) if I put in four or more search terms, like "1985 Ram D100 repair manual". Just trying to refine my searches a bit.

i'd wate till you find the exact year. 99% will probley be the same, but you never know what that 1% will be different.
