Specialty Cougar rims

1984  Mercury : Cougar

Quote from:

'84 Mercury Cougar with lots of updates.  Brand new CD player with AM/FM stereo and new speakers.  Brand new tires on the specialty Cougar rims (Rims were $500 each) .  Brand new brakes ($1,000 worth).  Has very recent oil change, tune up w/ new spark plugs & wires, radiator flush, new transmission fluid & filter, new belts & hoses, and new carburator.  New fuel tank, filters, lines and pumps.

Those look like regular D holes with the cougar head center caps. If he paid $500 each for those rims I will sell mine now.

I honestly dont think you could exceed the cost of a new car buy installing new *stock* parts everywhere in your coug our tbird. Its just plain impossible. You could revamp the entire drivetrain/engine/suspenstion and still come out ahead.

My 84 had a 3.8 and it was Carbed so I doubt he did any kind of conversion.

My 84 5.0 has CFI so maybe, but I still don't think so. He's just milking it for every cent to make it worth more

I didn't even read the 3.8 part. I was just thinking 5.0.

Depends on where the car was destined to go. 3.8L's in Canada got carbs.

1000 bucks in brakes? Definatly not impossible, i have about 1600 in wheels, tires, and brakes in my car.
It's Gumby's fault.
