Maybe in need of a tranny?!?!

I recently have been hearing this whistle like noise when my clutch is not pushed in, but when I push it in, the whistling noise isn't there anymore.  I was told by 2 different people that it's a throw out bearing?!!?  My question is-should I replace the clutch disk, pressure plate and throw out bearing or buy a used T-5?!?!!?  If anyone has a T-5 for sale, for real cheap (I'm poor) in the Pennsylvania area, lemme know.  Also, lemme know what your guys suggestions are on what I should do!!!

why would you need to buy a new trans? I'd just buy a clutch and pressure plate, then get the throw out and pilot bearing separately (not everything as a kit) then you can return what you dont need.

Yeah, I was just weighing out some options.  I'm not too car "generated" so I don't know much.  Luckily I have a few mechanics in my family so I can probably get it done for free or next to nothing.  I did have a question..can I buy the pressure plate/clutch disk and bearing as a kit, or?!!?!

most part stores sell them all in one kit. If you have it apart might as well replace it all. If you have luck like mine if you don't what you didn't replace will go out in 3-6mo and you'll be kicking your self.

Yep, that's what my Stepdad said to me.  "If I gotta drop the trans, I'm replacing the clutch disk and pressure plate too, so buy it all!"

Don't forget the pilot bearing too.  But it will prob be in the clutch kit.  If you are talking about the whistling happening at a standstill, and going away with light pressure on the clutch pedal, then your noise is coming from your throwout bearing.

Yep, indeed what I'm talking about.  No pressure on clutch-noise, pressure-no noise.  The clutch kit is $166 and some change so I'm going to pick it up soon.   I'm poor! LOL
