Well i figured that after paying off my home stereo loan I'd celebrate by buying something for my car, picked up the Poineer Premier DEH-P680MP. I previously had the JVC KDAR760 but jvc is a big steaming pile so instead of waiting for it to come back from warranty repair (again) then re-installing it (again) I figured fornicate it and grabbed this.

Got a screaming deal on it and the sound quality is way above what I had in the jvc. The menus are way easier to navigate and it has a search feature built in so you can search your mp3's for a paticular song, aswell as being able to browse your music folders while listening to a song. So now I have a good deck and a good sub, just gotta get some good speakers (cheapies in there now) and a better amp (Jensen :yuck: but it was a display model that cost me $30)

Don't take this the wrong way as I love Pioneer's products, but you quite possibly wasted a little bit of money. Pioneers Premier line doesn't really mean anything except for an inflated price tag. I have the deh-6800mp myself, which is virtually the same thing and cost me about $150 less. Otherwise you will love that headunit, even if you have stock speakers everything will sound infinately better!

i recently ordered up a deh 9800bt (blue tooth) to replace my 5 year old deh 8900 (i think it is). i love the pioneer decks but wasnt sure about the new face layout with the single . so your digging that?

They only carry JVC (bleh) Blaupunkt (under $150) and premier so I went with the obvious choice, besides I got it for $265 canadian.

I was looking at the premier version of that one but couldnt justify spending that much for something that half the features would never be used by me. The single  is great but can be a bit tricky if you hit a pot hole while browsing the menus and switch tracks or something but using the remote solves that. Otherwise its layed out really well, one touch bass controll kicks ass but I still havnt fount the att. button on the faceplate (if there even is one...) i've got py jensen speakers (princess auto clearance :p) and it sounds pretty good, cant really crank it past 35-40 on most songs though but thats plenty loud anyway.

If I remeber right the premire has a better warranty than the pioneer. Same thing just a little differnt. Not that you will need it. I've had my pioneer dehp-825 for 10+years and never a problem.

Pioneer rocks man,good choice.
Always go premier, they come with an extra year of warranty(which you won't need but good piece of mind),higher voltage preouts and are made in a different country than the regular products,IE:higher quality(can't remember where right now,i think china maybe puppiesan??).
Got the premier 960mp in the TC and a 900r(twin towers deck) in my SC.
Used to have a 940mp but sold it to my buddy to buy the 960mp(replace my decks every 2 years)They have never givin me any problems and sound amazing.
Got the girlfriend a 7800mp and she loves it.
JVC by the way is junk, had a middle of the road one about 4 yrs ago and it broke within 6 months, took 2 months to get it fixed and there cust service is horrible, never by a jvc product.
