I honestly dont think you could exceed the cost of a new car buy installing new *stock* parts everywhere in your coug our tbird. Its just plain impossible. You could revamp the entire drivetrain/engine/suspenstion and still come out ahead.

Tires make all the difference in the world. Back when I had my GN, I experimented with tires and it was interesting. Keep in mind this was 1/4 mile with a TE60, larger IC, alky injection and a 3000 stall converter. Regular old radials went 12.92. BFG drag radials were next and went 12.66. Last was the ET Streets and they busted out a 12.14 which I later improved to a 11.42 with a bigger exhaust and fuel pump. Best 60' with the ET's was a 1.58.....whooeeee!

Make sure you have alot of fuel. Buicks can run real good but they need ALOT of fuel.
My last one was a WE4 with 70 K on it. It went 12.0 @110 and it was just a bolt on car. Stock turbo, injectors, intake, cooler, ect. ect.

I have owned a bunch of them since the early 90s and if I can help you at all just let me know.
Here is a picture of my friends GN.

It makes 1000 hp to the tires on pump gas.

Shoulda been a 12.9 or so run. If it was pulling hard on the top end, could have been a 12.7 or quicker.

What kind of short time did it pull???

1.935  it also spins at shifts.

i tried a few higher boost runs, 60 fts got worse and worse as the night went on no matter how much i babied it.

the car should be capable of some low 1.50's on some good tires

My best 1/4 NA run was 13.11@105, with a 1.90 short... 1/8 was 8.42@82.99 so you probably would have had a 12.9 time....

You know, I would really like to have a GN.  My wife has been bugging me for a while now to get her a Cutlass or a Monte Carlo.  She likes that kind of body style...... I should just get a GN for her.  I showed her one the other day (One of my buddie's cars)  and she loved it.  Wich means I'd get to drive it sometimes! LOL ..... of course.... that means she would have to drive the TC sometimes too......Ah well! LOL

If you get her a turbo Buick she will be hooked for life. My wife is picky when it comes to cars and she has had all kinds of cool cars "03 Cobras,ws6 T/As,mark7s,Mark 8s" and the list goes on and on and to this day she still says that her turbo Buicks are her favorite.
They are very comfy,They get great gas mileage,They are very reliable and they can run low 12s for around $700.
How can you beat that?:D
