1st Trip to track with Turbo/install pic on 2nd page Reply #16 – May 25, 2006, 10:35:28 AM The offset of the price for twins would not be feasable for the power gains. You would have to have a place for twins, If you don't want P/S, A/C or any other goodies it would leave you more room. But my car is a street car for cruising and I want a nice ride and A/C and P/S. So 475 RWHP is enough for me. Quote Selected
1st Trip to track with Turbo/install pic on 2nd page Reply #17 – May 25, 2006, 04:09:34 PM Yeah 475 rwhp is good:D . I was just wondering if a twin turbo set up was worth it. How much did the motor make na without the 150 shot? Quote Selected
1st Trip to track with Turbo/install pic on 2nd page Reply #18 – May 25, 2006, 07:55:15 PM How streetable is that combo you have now? I assume since you have a/c and p/s that it is still mild mannered. Also how is your AOD holding up to that amount of power? Quote Selected

1st Trip to track with Turbo/install pic on 2nd page Reply #20 – May 25, 2006, 10:38:26 PM The trans has held up very well after the latest rebuild. We intstalled 4R70W planteries,O/D drum,OD band, conveted the frt input shaft over to the C6 shaft. Has a Lentech valve body and a Art Carr convt. Car is pretty streetable, Haven't put many miles on her yet with this setup yet. The day we ran @ the track a buddies car broke so we put his car on my trailer and I drove it back on the 60 mile trip with no problem. Motor was setup for a turbo with low compression it only made 300 RWHP 374 tor on motor only. I plan on driving her to CATJAM Quote Selected
1st Trip to track with Turbo/install pic on 2nd page Reply #21 – June 07, 2006, 04:30:59 PM I didn't realize you switched back to the AOD. What's up with that? You don't like to shift or something? Don't you owe a viper 6 speed to that motor? :) Quote Selected

1st Trip to track with Turbo/install pic on 2nd page Reply #24 – June 08, 2006, 09:44:08 AM Not really. A blow off valve's purpose is to keep the boost from slamming into a closed throttle plate, creating a "shockwave" that would normally bounce back to the turbo or supercharger impeller (creating turbulence, heat, and potential damage to the bearings and impeller). Instead, the blow off valve opens, preventing that "shockwave".What Greg is saying is that a hydraulic transmission (like an AOD) is a softer coupler between the engine and rear-end. The RPM changes during the shift won't be as sudden as a mechanical connection (like a T5), and should result in smoother operation of the boost device.I built my car as more of an all-purpose car, to have fun with, as Greg's response here sounds like 1/4 mile times and consistancy were his main goal. :) Quote Selected
1st Trip to track with Turbo/install pic on 2nd page Reply #25 – June 08, 2006, 08:07:42 PM The main purpose of my car Ed is to whipp Stangs and Camero A_ _. No I didn't build it just to drag race, I just take it to the track to have a good time. I handles well, the A/C is cold and the power window and such all still work. If I wanted a Drag only car it would be alot lighter and no acssories. Quote Selected
