Cold air intake with speed density?

Will a cold air intake work on a speed density setup?  I noticed that most of them are said to work with mass air, but I don't see why it wouldn't work with a speed density setup since it just replaces the air box.  Can somebody shed some light on this?

it is just because mass air needs a spot for the mass air sensor. You will want one for a speed density.

I honestly dont think you could exceed the cost of a new car buy installing new *stock* parts everywhere in your coug our tbird. Its just plain impossible. You could revamp the entire drivetrain/engine/suspenstion and still come out ahead.

What exactly is it I want?

Well, I don't know what YOU want :giggle: ...but if you want to use a cold air intake, you'll need one for a SD application, as the ones for mass-air  have a provision for the mass-air meter..speed-density does not...as Haystack said.

Cold air intake should work fine with speed density. I have a ram air intake on mine with no ill effects, except about a 5 hp increase;)

fyi, you already hava a "cold air intake" its the better conical filter (marginal on cheep CAI) and smother bends that supposedly give you the gain. a k&n pannel filter and removal of the air silencer would probably get you about the same gain. the tubular air intakes do look much better though.
