Tired of this ...

When i accelerate, i cant past from 15 mph. If i mash the gas, the car simply sputters and bogs but no gains speed, i even cant rev the engine freely when this happens. I have changed every single part in the carburetor but is still the same . When i reach 15 -17 mph, the car refuses to go faster, and sputters and bogs again....

And if you suggest "Get a gallon of premiun fuel, wash the car with that and get on fire" , ill do it NOW! i´m MAD !!!!

Several things can cause similar problems...

You have a catalytic converter??? Possibly plugged up, but usually is a continual problem... We'll move on...

Fuel filter stopped up, restricting the fuel flow to the carb...(this one is a real probability)

Weak fuel pump, unable to supply enough fuel...

Carb, again probably would be continual issue... Yea I know you said it was rebuilt, but a problem in it's power circuit will cause the problem you describe...

A fuel pressure gage connected at the inlet to the carb, will eleminate or indicate wheather the problem is in the carb or a fuel supply problem... If pressures drop to practically nothing, then it's the pump or filter... A normal carb fuel pressure should be 5-8 psi...

i agree, i would suggest checking the timing also.

my old mazda truck did the exact same thing. It ended up being the fuel pump.

I honestly dont think you could exceed the cost of a new car buy installing new *stock* parts everywhere in your coug our tbird. Its just plain impossible. You could revamp the entire drivetrain/engine/suspenstion and still come out ahead.

if your fuel pump is bad, the fuel, i hope its not leaking at the diaphram on the top. If it is, the fuel will run down into the oil pan of the engine.  Does the oil smell of gas?  easy way to tell is to feel the texture of the oil,, the smell test and last,,, try to light up the oil on your dipstick and see if it ignites easy.  Id suggest doing this test after the engine has ran for a while.  Does your oil level seem to be going up on its own?

another thing i would do is install a very long spark plug wire on the coil with a spark plug on the other end and crank.  Look for real strong blue spark.  any orange color might point towards an ignition problem.
next,,, hook the coil back up and do the same test on one of your engine spark plugs just to verify strong spark.

Ok, time to burn the oil to see inflamability test and get out the fuel pump....out of the tank (i have an in-tank pump, not a pleasant job) I´ll keep you informed, Thanks guys....

First things first drop the exhust and rev it up. My turbo coupe did thesame thing. It was the cat. I checked and rechecked everything. I fianlly took it to a shop. They had it for two days before they figured it out. They took out the o2 sensor and noticed there seemed to be alot of exhust coming out of there. They put a pressure gauge in the O2 sensor hole and found 18psi of pressure. According to factory anything over 4psi needs to be replaced.
