Power Antenna replacement

Do you have to remove the fender to get to the power antenna motor?  Some ass clown at the car wash the other day pushed my antenna down manually and stripped out the gears in the motor, because now I just hear it make noise but the antenna still stays up.  And yes, I usually wash my car myself, but I was on the way to meet a friend and I noticed that my car was embarrasingly dirty so I stopped by one of the 10 dolalr drive through ones.

You have to remove the plastic splashguard to get to the antenna

Go back to the carwash and tell them about it. That's an amazingly stupid thing for him to do.

Otherwise, pull the wheel and the splashguard. Getting the antenna out is a pretty easy deal.

Yeah it seems that you all are forgeting that you have to revmove the lead from the radio and take it out of the dash. Are you shure that the gears are striped? Mine does as yours motor runs but it won't go up or down. I've been told I just need a new mast. I've looked into it 2 or 3 times just never bought it. It would cost me about $20 for the mast then just need to put it in. It seems to be alot simpler than removing the whoule unit. I found the Mast at a local Stereo shop.

New mast, that would be the actual antenna that extends right?  And CougarCrager, I said something to them there and he lokoed at me and then pointed to a big red sign on the wall that said "Carwash not responsible for any broken antenna's or mirrors"  Even though I know that means they aren't reponsible if it breaks inside the carwash, it would have been a moot point to try and argue.  I never use the radio anyhow since AZ's radio blows, and I have my iPod, but it just one of those things that is cool and I wished worked.

Yeah that would be the part that extends. Sounds pretty eazy to put in.
