Pic of my 85 bird Reply #3 – February 04, 2006, 06:31:40 PM QuoteCool I like it. For some reason I have a thing for tue tone TbirdsMe too. That's why I when I paint it it's staying factory colors. Most people don't like it, but I like the black on grey. Plus I figure after a while most people will have painted over their original paint with a single color therefore having the original will be original. Quote Selected

Pic of my 85 bird Reply #9 – February 06, 2006, 12:57:28 PM Thanks guys. I was pleased with the look as well. I used the complete mark VII rear and I used mustang spindles and mark VII calipers and rotors up front. i got most of the info from the coolcats website and some help from guys around here. I really wanted to take my tax return and get it painted but I made myself pay off a couple of debts. I should be able to get it painted next year though.OH, I don't know what you mean by stock tire size. The new rims were bigger than the 14's that came with the car. when I bought the rims they had bald tires on them that were on the 96 mustang they came from. they were a little too wide and rubbed my sway bar when you turned the wheel sharply (like parking or turning in a tight circle in a parking lot). I picked out some new tires that were 1.5" more narrow so that I knew they wouldn't rub. You could prob. push it closer than that but I didn't want to risk it. It gave me 3/4" more room on the inside clearance and I knew that would be enough. Not quite as much performance but I don't think I am really missing it. Quote Selected
Pic of my 85 bird Reply #10 – February 06, 2006, 07:31:16 PM I meant stock for the rims on the car. The stock size for those wheels is 225/60/16 Quote Selected
Pic of my 85 bird Reply #11 – February 06, 2006, 10:12:21 PM Looks good, Im going to be the bump in the road, I dont like the rims but then again I have never liked those rims on any car. Quote Selected
Pic of my 85 bird Reply #12 – February 07, 2006, 08:23:05 AM I like them, but I wish there were a way to change that mustang logo to let's say a Bird logo. Looks really good bud. I'm a chrome person and dont mind cleaning them every second. But I still admit those match the car quite well. Quote Selected

Sand them down, fill with bondo, sand, prime, and paint the color of the rim. Presto, no more Mustang.:D Quote Selected
Pic of my 85 bird Reply #14 – February 27, 2006, 11:06:07 PM It would be really cool to have some aluminum ones made with a bird or ford logo. I think it's sickening to put a plastic center on an aluminum rim anyways. It's the least of my worries right now though. It will be one of the final details I deal with. Quote Selected
