Rocker arms. 5.0

This could be almost sticky worthy.

Ive spent a little bit of time, trying to figure out the rocker arm setup our cars have. Im looking to run some 1.7's, but with a quick ebay search, youll find 3/8 stud mounts, 7/16's stud mounts, pedastal mounts, and all kinds of configurations.

Which does our 5.0s have?
It's Gumby's fault.

You could go with stud mount and roller rockers and pickup a few horses. I've got ported/ polished heads on my 91 and I'm doing a stud mount conversion. This includes studs, guide plates, rockers, and hardened pushrods. All together the kit will be less than $100. The rockers were traded for other parts so they aren't included in the price obviously.

IF you want to stay pedistal mount, the 1.7 Cobra roller rockers are the ones to get. I believe Crane still sells the set, and made the originals for Ford.

Most of the aftermarket heads are stud mount, but the pedistal versions are out there...

Ive found quite a few pedistal ones out there.

Since PTV clearance is tight with E7's and SO pistons, im going to grab some 1.6's and call it a day.

Scorpion still makes pedestal mount rockers for the 5.0 and they can be had for a good price (about $250 for a set of 1.72 ratio).
With a stock HO cam they will clear the stock HO valve covers provided you remove the oil baffle under the fill tube on the right side cover.
