brake swaps, and coversions will this work ?!

i don't know how many of you went and peiced together your front brake upgrades,

i'm looking to do the same thing

i have an 89 mustang witha 2.3,

i'm looking to upgrade my front brakes, and go witha five lug swap,

what's the best ideas, combo's, and stuff like that,

ALSO, i've got a 89 markVII rear end that i'm getting from a friend,
will this work in my mustang, i belive it's all the same mounting..but i'm not sure, slash, what brake kits/upgrades can i get for this thing,

For the front, would this kit be an option to consider ?!

For the front that kit will only work if you have spindles for sn-95. And you will have to run 17" wheels with that kit too. As for the best options, if really depends on the wheels you pick. I would use SN-95 spindles, brakes and whatnot in the front. As for the rear that Mark VII rear will bolt in, but it may push your wheels out more than desired. And I don't recall the exact distance at the moment.

So now I have some questions for you. What wheels are you going to be running? How much do you want to spend?

Swap to 11" 5.0 front brakes and use SVO  rotors

or use aerostar rotors with the current front brakes with the diameter cut down .200 thou

i peiced it together myself. it took forever but i cam in a little under 1000 including the shipping. the only used parts were the spindles and hubs. i dont have the master cyl or booster because im not going too need them.

i was kind of all set with spending 1900-2300 for the kit

cheepest place ive seen it so far is buyfordraceing.com they have it listed for 1900, still a fair price for a nice decent set of brakes.

i think the BEST BANG FOR THE BUCK would be too watch ebay for some 99+ front brakes. ive seen then sell for 250 (although not quite typical of those) for the whole knuckle including the spindle, hub, calipers, brackets, rotors and lines. these are nice brakes. you could step down too the pre 99 brakes and save some money. still alot better than what your car came with. their are all kinds of ways too put a brake/5lug conversion together at that level. if all you are looking for is too convert to 5 lug than there are now 5 lug conversion rotors available that are basically the same rotors you have, only 5 lug.

i believe it's 3/4 inches on each side for the mark rear end... i got a mark rear in mine with the disc brakes to boot.  got the whole thing for 30.00 dolla.  Airplane gears though.  but it does work, and it is five lug.  and unless your control arms and springs are shot to hell it shouldn't give you any problems.  Think about springs though, an 8.8 is bigger than a 7.5 and it's nice to have new springs.

and by the way you may have fender rubbage but i got ricer rims on my bird.  http://www.foxtbirdcougarforums.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=3146&stc=1&d=1123184140

You can also buy stock-style 5-lug rotors...wouldn't be an "upgrade" though.

I used MK VII rotors up front, on TC spindles, and axle shafts and brakes from an 84 Continental in a TC housing in back. Wheels fit in the wheelwells just fine.:D
