Door hinge pin replacement January 07, 2006, 10:15:42 PM I was planning on replacing the door hinge pins on my '87 T-bird, but ran into small roadblock. The hinge pin replacement parts are only sold in one length. The problem is that the top and bottom pins are different lengths. The top one is the same length as what is sold in parts stores, the bottom one is much shorter. Does anyone know if someone sells a hinge pin kit that has the bottom pin length or a good work-around? (Gluing the head of the pin to the hinge, etc...) Quote Selected

Door hinge pin replacement Reply #2 – January 07, 2006, 10:24:10 PM I could, but I don't have a drill-press so I doubt I could drill a hole for the cotton pin with enough accuracy to actually make a snug fit. But...does it even need to be a snug fit? Quote Selected
Door hinge pin replacement Reply #3 – January 07, 2006, 10:53:28 PM i donoubt that a cotter pin would need to be a tight fit. i always thought that if it needs to be tight it has a bolt and if it doesnt matter they just put a pin in it. just my $.02 Quote Selected
