Blown Head Gasket

Well I have a 1990 Cougar XR7 With a SuperCharged V-6.

Today I was on my way home from work, The car was running GREAT. Then I heard this weird noise kinda hard to explain, But then the car started to run Ruff and I stopped at the red light then started driving again and there was a big cloud of smoke couldnt even see the car behind me I didnt loose much power just ran ruff my first thought was the Head Gasket's. I was wondering what every one else thought? Or if any one had the same prob.. Let me know please Thank You..

More information would be nice...

Normally:

Cloud of white smoke + Running Rough = Head Gasket

What color was the smoke? Blue, Black, White, Turquoise?

Did you check for oil in the coolant, coolant in the oil, bubbles in the radiator while the engine is running, compression check?

Unless it blew a hose and started running rough due to coolant loss. White smoke is usually the coolant.
I've had first hand experience with this. I blew a coolant hose while pulling away from a stop light. It was one of the ones that leads to the heater core. Huge plumes of white smoke bellowed out of the rear of the car as I drove. I made it home and it wasn't until the next morning that I saw a nice sized hole in the hose. My car didn't really run rough though.

Considering that this just happend depending on your lighting situation, it may be best to wait until morning to check it out if you have time.

Check all of your hoses. Dont drive behind semis at night when they hit deers, I split one of my hoses. Like 5.0willgo I drove with white smoke. Nice hole. Wonder if it was the same hose?
