Blown Head Gasket Reply #3 – January 04, 2006, 10:27:06 PM What color was the smoke? Blue, Black, White, Turquoise?Did you check for oil in the coolant, coolant in the oil, bubbles in the radiator while the engine is running, compression check? Quote Selected

Blown Head Gasket Reply #5 – January 04, 2006, 11:07:00 PM Unless it blew a hose and started running rough due to coolant loss. White smoke is usually the coolant.I've had first hand experience with this. I blew a coolant hose while pulling away from a stop light. It was one of the ones that leads to the heater core. Huge plumes of white smoke bellowed out of the rear of the car as I drove. I made it home and it wasn't until the next morning that I saw a nice sized hole in the hose. My car didn't really run rough though.Considering that this just happend depending on your lighting situation, it may be best to wait until morning to check it out if you have time. Quote Selected
