Stock tire size on a sport coupe?

I looked on the car and in the owners manual but i couldnt find it anywhere so i was wondering what the stock tire size was on the sport coupes? When i got it it had 235/60/14 in the rear and 225/60/14 up front. I am going to step up to 15" rims and want to make sure the tires are close to stock height. Thanks

Stock size on my Cougar 14s is 215/70-14.  I would assume T-bird 14s would be the same.  Although, as Manson pointed out, the Sports 15s would have 225/60-15.

Sports had 14" wheels, so I am pretty sure you had 215/70/14s.  You can check the sticker on the inside of the passenger side door for tire sizes and pressures, ya know. :)

225/60-15 its on the passanger side door sticker for an XR7, also came on some sports to like mine. their not going to make seperate odometers, or different gears for each tire size.

Mine had 215/70R14's on it when I bought it and I installed 225/60R15's on 10-holes. According to those police "You're going this fast" radar trailers the speedo is still accurate

Your sport came with 15" wheels?  That was never a factory option IIRC.  The Sports came with the 215/70/14s with the "*" at the end of that sticker, same size as base Tbirds but with a speed rating and no whitewall.

The dealer brochure I have for the 88 Thunderbird says the Sports come with "performance black wall P215/70/HR14 tires on styled steal wheels or optional aluminium wheels". So tire size is the same as non Turbo Birds except they were H speed rated.

If the sports DID have 15" wheels, it might have kept my Dad from buying an XR7 instead back in 1987.
