Vintage Alpine out, New Sony in~

Replaced my stereo system this weekend..

I took out all the Alpine stuff that was installed in 1986.. It even had a 75x4 amp in the trunk. I put in a Sony CDX5710 and 6 new Infinity Kappa reference speakers.. System sounds great and I got my cars system sentry back :D

Here's the Alpine 7272 deck and 5900 CD player as installed in 86

Wires, wires..everywhere :giggle:

Here's the new unit in place

Nice.  I bet that Alpine system was pretty pricey back in '86.  It's cool how much technology changes, but how much it stays compatible with older stuff so it can be integrated.

Dear lord, I've never seen a dash vomit so many wires. And are they actually Kappa Reference?  I thought those were two different series.  Because I have Kappa 6x9's and don't remember seeing Reference on the box.  My sub is a Reference, and it says it on the box, plus they use different color packaging (teal=Kappa, maroon=Reference).  Just checking to make sure you got what you paid for.
