no spark :(

A week ago i tried starting up my car and it just wouldnt start. Starter motor would turn like crazy but it just wouldnt catch. I took my dad down to look at it and first turn it started right up. So i was a little nervous but took off anyways. While I was out, the car died. I pulled over and turned it till it started. I tested for spark when i got back and there was none. The car ran terrible after the second stall. Im thinking ignition module but im not sure. Maybe distributer? any suggestions/info would be appreciated. what bugs me is it was working perfectly earlier on the day it happened. I'm in no rush because ive switched to my olds for the winter anyways, but id certainly appreciate any help. thanks.

When it was runnig terrible, was it shooting black smoke by exaust? (Carbon smell).... if it does, might be unpluged/defective Map sensor...

Or if your car suddenly shut down for no reason you migth be having the same prob as me right now....
Take a look at the thread about the Codes in this section....

Did you pull the codes?

thanks guys, im new to electrical problems so bear with me. Could you explain pulling codes? i looked at that link and it was still kinda confusing. It doesnt even say what codes are lol. I'll check the ignition module and for power to the coil.

IDN about the carbon smell and black smoke ill have to see if it will run again so i can check that.

thanks again ill let you guys know if i have any more trouble.

Then why did Ford have a recall on both the TFI and the ignition swithes?? :ies:
