Running with a flat tire....

Well, just today i was thinking "well, i had very much  problems with this car, but never i had a flat tire "  and when i was returning to home form my school, i noticed a little loss of power, or movement.....i stopped and saw....oh my f"#! luck, the rear left tire were without air...i was like 7 or 8 blocks from my house, i had the spare tire and the wrench but i dont have a jack...and was 9:00 pm....well, i remember one of those manuals "if you run with a flat tire, even a half turn will damage completely the tire and it will become useless". but the intense rain of today were stronger and i put the hazzard lights and started the 8 blocks trip, at speeds lesser than 15 km/h.

Well, the question is, can i fix my tire , or at least it is still fixable (maybe not for me) ? i also checked the side of the tire and looks good, but i dont know...

If your sidewalls on your tire is still in relative good condition yes.  But the side walls can get trashed pretty fast in a short distance.

Also if there is a puncture of anykind on the side wall, it cannot be repaird.

What you can't see is any damage inside the casing.

YOu can air it up and see, but my guess is that it would be toast.

Rule of thumb: If you drive on it flat replace it. I bet you get the tire off the rim the inside lookes like coffe grounds.

Just in the time it would take you to get off the road it can trash the tire.

was it fully flat or just low.
If u have a tire that is almost flat and u drive on it for a little bit u can get away with it but any leanth of time and rubber inside the tire starts to come apart.
Price for a used tire is alot cheaper then if u fix this tire and hope it lasts.

Lessons to all this is Keep a Jack in the car.
